Meh. Kinda hard to come in the office when your daddy is trying to bury your employer with a crosstown rival. Saw this coming a mile away. Best wishes.

He doesn't have a perfect career, the point is that he's earned his success. Jeanie is a trust fund kid who was posing in Playboy while Ballmer was on his way to becoming a self made billionaire.

How has she failed miserably as an owner? Nepotism and incompetence. Again you're crediting her for something that she had nothing to do with. We held onto Luke's garbage a** because she loved him (former Laker of course she does). Kurt Rambis has a ton of power because he's Jeanie's bff's husband. Magic turned out to be a disaster, Pelinka and he put together the worst lineup around LeBron since his Cleveland days and she rewards Pelinka with essentially a promotion by not hiring a PBO. These are all things she is directly responsible for. LeBron and AD coming are things she is very indirectly responsible for.

There's no point arguing with you Jeanie apologists though. Anyone who isn't a Lakers homer will tell you she's Dolan West.

Give me a hard working person who's earned their success over her any day.

If anyone has compromising pictures or knows of any information that might be used to blackmail the Rambii, please use it now before our team is demoted to the G-League.

This is an obvious joke...just to be clear. Really. It's just a joke...maybe.

Ok then. First, I’m no Jeanie apologist, but if calling me that helps you feel better about your point, help yourself. My preference would be for her to hand the basketball side over to someone like David Griffin and then stay out of the way. However, I’m willing to call out ridiculous mischaracterizations when I see them.

Second, why are you insisting Ballmer is a self made billionaire? That’s why I recommended you do some research. He’s as much a self made billionaire as Jeanie is.

Yeah, totally man. Except for the fact that he literally has a net worth 50 billion dollars. Jeanie's net worth is what? One one hundredth of that? All thanks to daddy, I might add.

Keep trying to diminish his accomplishments while making Jeanie sound nearly as successful. You may claim you're not an apologist of her, but your comments on this subject heavily dispute that.

Ballmer was literally an executive VP of sales at one of the most profitable, valuable companies in the world while Jeanie was doing Playboy photoshoots.

Don't hurt yourself trying to do mental gymastics comparing their success.

Keep spouting stuff when you literally have no idea what you are talking about. It's at least entertaining. How many billions was the Cheerleader worth before grabbing Bill Gates' coattails? How did the company do under his leadership compared to how it's done since he left? What actual decisions did he make, and how are those decisions almost universally viewed now by those who actually know about his track record?

You're actually still responding? Thought you'd embarrassed yourself enough.

It's disgusting to see someone like you on this site, an admin of all people, refuse to accept that Ballmer has achieved hundreds times more than Jeanie could ever dream to.

Just to entertain your trash, baseless argument, their revenue doubled under his leadership despite missing out on some big trends that others like Google and Apple capitalized on.

Are you really implying that he road Bill's coattails like a cheerleader? Maybe you should go read up on the structural changes that Ballmer made in the early days there, which Gates has credited much of the company's success to.

Why am I even replying to you? The whole point of my posts were to say that Ballmer is hundreds of times more accomplished and successful than Jeanie's trust fund a**.

Any unbiased person could read both of their bios, while giving Jeanie every benefit of the doubt and Ballmer none, and still reach that conclusion.

Did Gates get Ballmer into Harvard as well? It's hilarious how you downplay his role at Microsoft while giving no actual counter to say how Jeanie is in any way more accomplished. Ballmer could've bankrupted Microsoft and still be a more accomplished person than Jeanie, so your entire argument is literally baseless. Did you forget that the argument was about Ballmer being more accomplished than Jeanie, not Ballmer being some sort of genius pioneer visionary?

Stick to being an admin, whatever that entails. You're so blinded by your homerism that you have to try to tear down the accomplishments of a person who helped build one of the most successful companies in the world to defend your playboy model owner? Just stop.

I think we all commented on the Clippers mediocrity while being run by Donald Sterling. It’s good they have new ownership, and it’s better for the league in general.

Yes, we now have competition in the marketplace, but whether or not they grow their fan base depends on both their success and our failure.

Hope our drought is over just in time, but the league needs proactive and positive owners like Ballmer.

The whole buying the media off thing is super weird and disturbing if true, but the best response is massive undeniable success that renders those attempts futile, worthless, and ultimately embarrassing for those forced to participate.

Our tasks are clearly laid out, and the Clippers are poised to slowly grab market share if we are unable to succeed. (As they should)

But I’m unable to root for them. And the overall changes for the positive are undeniable.

Goddamn, you need to chill out rook. Unless you're Ballmer kin, I don't see the need to defend dude so much on a Lakers board. cLips better get no love here, otherwise I'm at the wrong f***ing address.

Only I'm allowed to talk to Time like that. Plus, respect your elders!

I agree with the premise that Jeanie has to start looking in the mirror and set her own stamp on her Lakers. She did it her dad's way and it didn't work for her the way it did for him. So you gotta make your own mark on your team.

However, Ballmer failed with 3 allstars and a supposed goat coach...so why is everybody thinking 2 allstars (1 that couldn't even make it out the west 1st round 2 consecutive years with a league MVP and Aquaman) plus that same supposed goat coach will do any better.

Plus the cLips only have their arena as a future to look forward to. They don't know if George or Kawhi will still be there to open those doors and they sure as hell don't have no young stud to hold down their future outlook since they shipped that entire possibility to Okc.

Ballmer fires employees that speak their mind (Bowen), stalks future employees (Kawhi), ships former employees away with just a t-shirt to show for it (Blake) and buys people out to get what he wants (see how the mayor of Inglewood helped usher in their new arena).

I know it's cliche that nice people finish last, but I rather roll with a woman who isn't so cut throat in business instead of some billionaire douche that is.

But I do agree wholeheartedly that Jeanie needs to step her game up. She has kept her father's Lakers brand alive, but now it's time to have her rebrand it and make it her own.

    Lies!!!!

Clark Kent is like Mary Poppins. Practically perfect in every way.

But not as perfect as Linda. She's amazeballs.

I pretty much agree with everything you have said here. I'm just not real unhappy with how things are going now. Jeannie does have some areas she needs to improve but I see her making that happen. She really hasn't had much time and her reactions to things that have happened involving her brother and Magic shows some restraint. I still think she has a tendency to react to too many things emotionally and that could really kick her in the butt eventually, but I have hope she will improve on this.

I have hope that Anthony Davis will be the positive player we need in this city. Really like what I have seen and heard so far. Lebron is still a top 10 player, maybe better. He is getting older and needs to pace himself. That was a bad look for him when surrounded by a bunch of kids who didn't know how to win without Lebron playing his best.

If Lebron had this same Lakers squad with him in Cleveland, right now, they would probably be favored to win it all. This is the best team he has ever been on. It's no guarantee for us, but I like our odds. We will see by the middle of next season.

    Back on subject...

Laker Player Efficiency Ratings in the top 50

    AD #3
    LBJ #8
    McGee #28
    Cousins #33

Clipper Player Efficiency Ratings in the top 50

    Kawhi #7
    Montrezl Harrell #20
    Paul George #22
    Lou Williams #34

These were last year's too so Boogie's will presumably be better this season. Also expect LBJ's to increase a little from rest but we'll see.
Take 'em with a grain of salt. I mean, guy like Nikola Jovic is rated higher than Kawhi and LBJ so...
    P13 didn't crack the top 20 even.

Caruso must not have played enough minutes to qualify, but efficiency is overrated.

Clips are you sure you want the guy who has been with Philly the last 4 years? Look at their past 4-5 drafts and the rookies they drafted with lottery type picks and check out how many games those rookies played their first year:

    2014 Joel Embiid - 0
    2015 Jahlil Oakfor - 53
    2016 Ben Simmons - 0
    2017 Markelle Fultz - 14
    2018 Zhaire Smith - 6

That is a total of 73 games played between 5 players for their entire rookie season. 73 games out of a possible 410. And the Clips wanted to desperately hire this guy?? I mean I know some of these injuries are an act of God and just unfortunate but if you want to change up your training staff you have plenty of other options.
