I like the underdog status. Let the Clippers have some expectations on them and see how they perform with pressure.

Yeah, I actually get ranking the Clips above us before the season starts. They gave the Warriors a strong run in the playoffs, then added two elite wings. But the Rockets? And the Sixers who lost their best wing? C'mon.

Yeah, and I'm not sure I disagree. On paper, hou and lac can argue they're better. But the media implies we have question marks and they don't...which is silliness.

Now you have me curious. How does Houston argue they are better?

Returned a team that played at a 60+ win pace for most of the season with the only change being an upgrade of its second star?

I'll be surprised if they (or Denver) don't finish with the best regular season record.

Ok, so their argument would be to exchange one star who didn't really mesh with their best player that well, for another star who meshes much worse, but they at least will be another regular season champion?

They are not built for the playoffs. They did not do anything to change that. They acquired the biggest ball hog in the league to play alongside the other biggest ball hog in the league and got better?

Everyone said Paul wouldn't fit, too. Bigger issue is that their two stars are iron men, imo. Injuries often dictate wins and losses.

I think it's possible. We have to gel quickly and nab a top 3 record, though. But I'm of the opinion that Davis was the best player to change teams this summer.

I would agree that in the context of availability they are certainly better off. Personally, while the CP3 fit was never ideal, I thought it could work for them to an extent because he was willing to pass the ball. I just don’t see any way Westbrook will work with Harden or with D’antoni’s “the ball finds energy” system.

Well Refbrook and Soften were teammates before, so I don't see why they couldn't make it work a second time.

Welllll, Harden came off the bench then, and he performed a vanishing act in the Finals while Westbrook averaged 27 and had. 43 point game trying to even the series at 2-2, but couldn’t. I imagine if Harden disappears again there will be anger.

I can very well see Denver and maybe even Portland land the top two spots in the West. They benefit from continuity between the seasons.

Dantoni sold his soul years ago. Russ works fine in the pound the ball and drive and kick "system".

Both harden and Westbrook are drive and kick guys (they rarely hit cutters from the standstill and like guys to just stay in spots. Houston is built for that.

Utah, too, because Conley is such a high iq player. But he gets hurt a lot.
