f***ing Laker fans...will crucify Magic who helped bring 5 rings to the the brand but will ride for R.Pelly...seriously no rhyme or reason in this. Enjoy your Lord and savior haha.

Meanwhile, any reasonable fan understands Rob is not infallible and it would do us good to have more expertise in our FO.

F***ing Laker fans will support Magic who torched the FO before their most important summer in decades, possibly ever and s*** on Pelinka who built a contender. Seriously no rhyme or reason in this. Enjoy your Lord and savior haha

    See how that works? Nonsense.

Why is there always 2-3 guys who can't STFU and stay in their lane. My God.

I come back to Lakers Ball and see the same 2/3 guys who make me want to leave again.

Yes it's the internet but just shut up sometimes if you have nothing good to offer. Sheesh.

Unfortunately I doubt it. The Lakers tax, whatever you want to call it, if the media before all this concluded were calling out Rob for "scrambling" and not knowing the CAP. I don't care if we win the championship this year he's not getting it.

Yeah I wasn't positing cause I was caught up in other stuff...
I was around when we were nearly ROCK BOTTOM...but proves my point, you're literally 1 of the guys who doesn't know when to stay in their lane&STFU... funny thing is I like you, I want you on my team but my point still stands. I dont get your attitude, EVERY SINGLE TIME I've noticed when someone isn't with you, they're against you

Humble yourself my dude&once again, I like having you on my team but you just get overly involved.

What's with you being the one calling other conversations dumb, unnecessary and telling people to STFU. All I'm saying.

@vasashi17, those are interesting approaches we could’ve taken this summer that once again demonstrate your awesome knowledge of the cap and why you’re such a dope poster here. I just personally disagree, and it does feel to me that you’re judging Pelinka personally based on your Magic fandom as opposed to attacking Pelinka on the merits of his moves. While everything you posited would have been solid ways to approach our cap space, I’m not convinced any of that would have resulted in a better roster than we have right now.

The idea of replenishing assets is definitely interesting though. I had thought of ourselves as a target for other teams to dump salary on, but never put together that we could also use that strategy to refill our “draft treasure chest”. Again, not sure I agree that would have been a better use of our cap, but it’s a significant factor worth discussing. We don’t have many long term assets that could give us the flexibility to be a player in the trade market to improve on what we have. We really do just have to cross our fingers that the personnel we have can get it done.

Although, I think the “draft assets” we gave up for AD was way overblown. I’d be curious to be fact-checked on this, but I think we really only gave up two other first rounders to NO, and so even with the Steppian rule we might have a few first rounders we could theoretically throw in to a trade package.

@LTLakerFan is one of the coolest dudes on here.

Always respectful, cordial, and humble. Idk why the need to be so aggressive to a quality poster and a quality dude.

I'm pretty sure we d all want a Masai or a Griffin heading the FO, but the Lakers dont have anyone of their caliber from what we know so far. From the group of Magic, Pelinka, Rambis, Phil, and Jeanie, I d be incline to give Pelinka a try, because I sure don't trust the rest. It s not what I want, but I m just picking the lesser of the evil. And I d bet that s what other fans are feeling too, we don't have a choice.

Magic might of helped the Lakers obtain 5 rings, but he built an empire worth just short of a billion dollars from it. He really is tragic when it comes to talent evaluations and you d know this if you followed his twitters and the boneheaded moves he has made while he was the POBO. From what has transpired during and after his time as the POBO, it s pretty obvious the dude wouldn't even be worth a fraction of what he is now if he wasnt a Laker and used his fame and connections. Lakers brand made Magic, not the other way around, and every time he opens his mouth or twits, I d cringe and would like for him to stfu and stop embarrassing the Lakers brand.

Nothing but love for almost all the posters here. We all have our moments, but the ones that get carried away, it's pretty easy to scroll past and forget about those moments.

But I'm kind of surprised out of all of the people that could be brought up, you bring up LT.

:Kuzmawhoknew::Javaleidontknow2: LT, I guess it's time to tone it down lol

An executive of a sports franchise is only as good as the championship(s) he wins.

The entire world was kissing Masai Ujiri's butt after Toronto won like he was Jerry West or Dave Dombrowski. All he did was trade for a guy that might have helped to get rid of mental midget Derozen. Anyone could have made that trade. He just hit the Powerball at the perfect moment with Durant and half the Warriors team busting their legs up in the Finals.

I learned some new information the other day. While part of the front office's refusal to hire Lue for a 5 year deal was due to some politicking by the Rambis family, apparently there were some other issues at play as well. Looks like the timing of the contract, along with the strong push to hire Kidd as an assistant, was designed specifically to target Giannis in 2021 free agency. At this time, with a 3 year deal, Vogel will only have a year remaining on his contract, giving Pelinka the ability to fire him and bring on Jason Kidd as the head coach in order to entice Giannis.

Ryan West says hello. He's 39 and been groomed in the Lakers organization and in the FO pretty much his whole life save for a stint in Memphis with Jerry. For the Lakers PBO, still hooked into Pops' council if ever he were to need it, I'd pose he would be at this point in time during next year or so an outside the box brilliant hire. Even more so (for the Lakers position) than Bob Myers at the younger age of 36 brought into the Warriors front office from his players' agent background the same as Pelinka.

Hate that concept. So obvious, shallow and wrong. This is something they would just do in the HOPE it interests Giannis? Chances are not great let's face it with him coming and then we're stuck with Kidd? They had damn well better know through the tampering channels that this would bring him. If that's the case whatever I guess. But see Weezy's comments below as well.

I’m not even sure it would be worth it to get Giannis if Kidd were head coach. Look at the leap Milwaukee took in one season after he was fired, they went from 44-38 to 60-22 with essentially the same roster and Giannis was MVP. Are we supposed to credit that to Brook Lopez? No way, Kidd friggin sucks.
