Man you're all over the place with your post. I asked you one simple question regarding on how the Green situation was handled. You think Rob is lying. OK then there's nothing more to discuss.

In regards to your take on how Rob handled the Wizards deal before he locked up a 3rd max, and how Wagner, Bonga, and JJ are viewed as legitimate assets, I would disagree with both points. First off it s not worth risking a chance at Kawhi for those 3 pieces and a 2nd rounder, there were too many top end free agents available and can assume many teams would of been looking to dump salary. This offseason was all about aquiring AD and signing Kawhi/another star, Lakers have given away dlo, randle, lopez, the farm, the future for a chance at obtaining 3 stars, and you cant risk not having the cap space for a max star to preserve basically wagner and a 2nd rounder. I doubt Wizards would of waited for the Lakers to get a star before the trade was pulled, because they need to go about filling their roster. Even Iggy had to be moved with a 1st rounder attached, I think Pelinka did great, would rather take 3 vet min players over the 3 that were shipped and a 2nd.

regards to D.Green, think was also a great move, not only did Pelinka locked green as a 2nd option in case he misses out on Kawhi, but he did so with only a two year contract. Has been reported the Mavs offered a 3 year deal for Green, and this fits in with the Lakers vision of possibilities for the 21' free agent class.

KCP, McGee, Boogie, Cook, I m just glad they waited for the Lakers and the kawhi after math. I d assume there was deal with those players on the 7/1 that they would get room and rest vet mins if kawhi was signed, but if the Lakers miss on Kawhi that they d get a little more since there s more cap room to go around. Just imgaine if they took more money and went elsewhere when free agency started where would the Lakers be right now.

Overall I think Pelinka really did an awesome job this offseason, and he has place the Lakers in contention even with plan A turning into a disaster.

This board loves to pin someone to just one camp. These broad strokes by the board ain't getting no one paid. They just leave me bored.

Let make this clear for folks that want to refuse to discuss hoops, rather refute my points to just being a Magic guy. Magic is my guy and I'll defend him from over the top hate...but I won't dispute valid criticisms that are justified.

This isn't a Magic vs Rob...this is a make the Lakers better thing. Rob and Rambis as our bball ops ain't it imo. If you guys like it cool.

But that doesn't take away from my points of emphasis. Dude needs more finesse in the cap game. I don't know why y'all refuse to see it, but a more savvy CBA head is needed in our FO.

As for him lying...I'm saying it doesn't really fit the timeline. So if you don't agree, why don't you point out his truth.

If Green was guaranteed a number on July 1st as contigency, then you don't need to dump salary for his number as a contingency. Grab the max guy then dump salary.... otherwise what's the point really.

This isn't Rob slander or hate. I want the guy to succeed. But if y'all take want to really pin me to a camp...it's the camp that's against the group that titles Rob as a cap gawd justifying him as our main guy in bball ops with no oversight. Yeah, I know my camp title needs a little work.

Why wouldn't the Wiz wait? They were capped out, had multiple small TPEs which would be valuable to who exactly? JJ and Bonga could fit into any teams vet min exception (both were making 1.4m).

So I highly doubt no team out there would take them in as a salary dump.

    Agree to disagree.

I for one am not not pinning you to anyone or any group, just refuting your take on this offseason. But if you want to know, I think Magic should of never been picked for POBO, Jeanie, Rambii, Pelinka they all need to go, and also don t want Kobe or Phil making any bball decisions for the Lakers, strongly feel they are all self serving. I m a die hard Lakers fan, and hate everything about the FO, but at the sametime I think Pelinka did a magnificent job this offseason.

You cant risk 6 years of cap saving and dumping all the prized assets for something diminutive as wagner and a 2nd rounder. Lakers only got 1 meeting with Kawhi, they dont know whats going on in his mind or his camp. You want to make sure to Kawhi that you went out and did everything possible to make him a Laker, how can you possibly think about going into a meeting with kawhi and telling him, I have a trade in place with the Wizards to get max cap space if you decide to sign with us... You go into that meeting and want Kawhi to feel it s Kawhi, you you you, and nothing but you, and if you dont sign with us we are screwed. Just too bad Kawhi is an idiot.

Paula doubled down on her's (idiocy). Returning to OKC with Russell Westbrook and that cheap OKC front office, and now committing to a team that hangs its players pics over Lakers banners and employs a ridiculous looking mascot.

Kawhi is talented but I feel he s over rating himself just as the media has done. It takes much more to being a leader then just having bball skills, from his time with the Spurs and the Raptors, he has been sheltered and pampered, for one reason or other. He has another thing coming to him if he thinks it 'll be the same playing for the Clippers. Clippers are expecting kawhi to lead them to the Chip, from Ballmer, to Frank, to Doc, to Bev, they are all firey, vocal go getters. During a long season they 'll face issues and tribulations, and I don't see Kawhi having the personality nor the resolve to handle the coming situations. Lou who has been arguably their best player and is only making 8mil per season, and he 'll be balling his a** off, while kawhi is gonna cry about load management, if things don't go his way he 'll go back into his shell and just stfu and keep everyone guessing, just as he has done throughout his career. Clips also have a young team minus Lou and Bev, I just don't see them pampering kawhi and letting him have his cake and eat it too. PG13 is another idiot, I can already see the factions forming in ClipperLand and Kawhi regretting not coming to the perfect situation that was presented to him in the Lakers. The way he handled his situation with the Spurs just showed his immaturity and he s basically a child.

Good point and I can't refute any of that... especially the idiot part haha.

I'm just not thrilled with the execution of our max slot plan.

You go back to 2017 and we brought in Kcp with our space. That wasn't created...we had it. Deng was still on the books and Moz/DLo (23m) went out with BLo/Kuz (24m) coming back in. If anything, we lost 1m in cap space with that deal.

Fast forward to today and all those assets shed for a max slot was given to Danny Green, Kcp (a guy we already had), McGee (a guy that has been a career minute restrictive player and coming off a year of pneumonia) and Boogie (a guy forced into taking less due to injury).

There was no word that we even met with other max guys like Butler or Kyrie.

Plus I'm sure how Kawhi heard us linked to DLo as a back-up plan, so how did we really make Kawhi feel exclusive of that rumor was correct?

I'm just saying that we gave up alot of time and resources to get to this summer and our execution was hardly ideal imo.

Btw, thx for not pinning me to a certain group or insinuating that I have something other than the Lakers best interests at heart.

All things considered, I'm ok with the signings that transpired once that guy gave his notice. Have to remember hindsight is a major part of the criticism here.

I’m on board with Peli. He rep’d well at the press conference. I like how he emphasized relationships and working out fair deals with other teams. The overall message was that this is a stand up organization that is willing to work with the players and trade partners. I noticed even back when Mag/Peli first came aboard the trades they made seemed to be to situations that were well suited for our outgoing player. And that includes this trade for AD where the youngsters are stepping onto a blank canvass in N.O., which has a lot of hype, so they can do their thing. If you need an example of a contrast approach I’ll just say see Biff.

No he’s going to announce it on TV, that he’s wants to stab his boss in the back. Oh yeah, someone did go on national TV and stab the Lakers in the back but it wasn’t Rob.
