A GM's job is roster construction, while the Prez has many jobs (hiring GM, hiring empowering coach & staff, med staff hires, player media relations hires, etc.)

Magic got blamed and some of it was valid. But when I say he put in the work, I'm saying as a Laker he put in the work, unless those banners in the rafters, that jersey up top and the statue outside says otherwise. Meanwhile Rob still has to prove himself other than being Kob's guy.

If a max guy was not a realistic possibility, then don't expand the AD trade until it's a very real thing, otherwise what's the point of trading 4 assets for a net 2.2m in additional cap space...that's plain wasteful.

The Prez should look into getting Rob more savvy and seasoned cap experts then...oh wait.

I don’t have a problem with hiring a Prez. I think Jeanie dropped the ball there. I just don’t see how that is Rob’s fault.

That's not Rob's fault, only Jeanie to blame with that. Again, leading with her heart. I know where she's coming from and I admire her for it in some ways for sure but it doesn't make much business sense and that's where it always hurts us in the long run. Jeanie as a person is awesome from what I know of her, and magics smile is infectious and he can own a room like no other but his loose lips and I'm taking my ball and going home attitude isn't what this organization needs in the FO.

Welp, Beal's cap hit is 27.1M, so that would require..... only God knows how the heck we could make that happen at the deadline&then bring in all sorts of new veterans lol. Sounds wild.
Maybe next off-season but you'd definitely have to throw in Kuz IMO which I wouldn't include.

Beal is a FA after 2020 so he'll be in a contract year(less value for WAS).

Here's a screenshot from www.spotrac.com of Lakers salary cap breakdown.

I think Rob did a great job and has earned his role as GM.

Good stuff. Man, do I hope we can somehow land Iggy. He really would be perfect for this team.

I think Iggy will be coming soon y'all, fishy and I'm not talking about Derek that the Lakers haven't added another 6'7 wing yet when they have 2 spaces still(W/O Horton-tucker).

Korver and Iggy would be a dream and boost our chances a lil more.
