I have no doubt there would be different rules of engagement next time around if there was a next time. Fool me once, etc. That's also just good business.

he gave that opt to get PG to both Tor and LAC, he KNEW what he requested prior to our pitch meeting and KNEW the progress of those trade talks before asking for more time last Fri, so yes it was malicious IMO and yes I'm SALTY lol

I don't think the trying to lead us on to keep us from moving on with other plans if you're not interested is 100% ethical and in good faith during FA period even if it is tactically sound in The Art of War type thinking. Still mad.

He wasn’t leading us on. He would have signed with us if Toronto and Clippers couldn’t get a second star. Toronto balked at the asking price, and Clippers traded something like 7 valuable assets for PG. We were the 3rd option, but its smart to keep your options open and no one was forcing us to wait.

It is what it is - move on.

Could be. Prefer to stay mad at them. The whole Lee Jenkins / Clippers amazing / Lakers a joke orchestrated ESPN / Media campaign, (again fair in love and war), rankles as well.

He was never going to sign with us. Was always about leverage - forcing the Clips or Raps to do whatever they could to get PG.

That is why idiots like Broussard and SAS were played in the beginning to leak that the Lakers were the likely destination. To force the Clips to act.

Windhorst is on Balmer’s payroll and kept the Clips narrative alive, then even he went silent the last couple days while West went stealth.

KL lied to and used the Lakers. And I called it weeks ago.

have to agree here...we were a 3rd opt if worse comes to worse but he did use us as leverage to force both lac n tor hands

He was never going to be a Laker. Even if Toronto didn't get a second star. Lakers have always been a leverage move. This was the biggest one of all.

Nobody knows for sure, Woj said LAL was 2nd choice if LAC couldn't get a 2nd star. You guys may not like him and believe him, but he was pretty spot on with Kawhi.

Lets just drop the Kawhi talk, its over

Lets focus on this season, who we can get moving forward this year, and in 2021.

Most likely big 2021 FA we can get?

Beal will be 28, CJ will be 30

I don't think Giannis will be the type to team up with Bron and AD, I think he wants to be Bron, not be with him.

So while our current window is 2 years (this may be our best year of the 2 if Boogie is 75% back to Sac/Nola form b/c that is a near all star. Plus Lebron getting older), we can extend it by a couple extra years if we land a guy like Beal

is it ok if we just focus on this year lol? You already want to skip to free agency recruiting classes in the future?

I'd like to just try to win this year, and then have some plans going in the background.

hopefully rob values draft picks (late or not) better than mitch did during contention era...i remember scratching my head when we gave away a 1st to move an expiring sasha for no apparent reason

Sure we can mostly focus on this year, but no doubt we should be (and I assume we are with the 2 year deals we gave) looking to the future as well.

I can see Giannis leaving, but I would lean on him staying, especially if they even make the finals once in next 2 seasons.
But if he leaves, not sure where he goes rn tbh

well, we need to take care of our own business. Right now, AD expires next year, so if this year is a disaster, that would be pretty tragic if he decided not to stick around. Maybe he thinks playing with Lebron will be easier than it actually is. Lots of variables for us, but indeed it appears we will have continuous massive roster turnover annually for the next several seasons.
