I choose to believe that quad is alot more busted up then what they are saying the way he played in finals and then him having a busted knee from favoring his quad

Savs, for all the reasons @therealdeal posted, I’ll include one more... throughout the regular season we kept hearing stuff about how Kawhi didn’t want to play with LeBron. Now we know it’s most likely true.

I don’t think the FO could’ve done anything that could’ve gotten us Kawhi save it be not having LBJ here. I believe that because everything else the Lakers could offer is superior to what the Clippers had to offer.

If Kawhi was willing to turn down everything the Lakers had to offer then he had no intention of coming here unless it was the absolute last option.

I think playing with Lebron right now as a lone star is a legitimate worry, if he gets injured, you’re stuck carrying the team by yourself. Similar scenario to Kobe at the end when we couldn’t get any running mates. But what shocked me was we have AD too who is young.

I don't see why any other players coming here or anyone else should be worried about LBJ getting injured. Last season the man was coming off 8 finals appearances. This is the first time he's got a chance to rest and train his body. People should be worried about what he's gonna do on the court. This isn't similar to Kobe people do want to play with LBJ, as evidenced by AD and Boogie signing both at sacrifices to themselves. Kobe was badly injured. Prior to this injury LBJ had last season, he played an 82 game season and 22 playoff games which was his 8th year straight going to the finals. Dude's a physical freak.

I agree with you. Had we hired West, possibly David Griffin, we could have had a better shot at Kawhi. Stability seems to matter to him, and we have not had that. It’s cost us some bad publicity in our coaching search, and it might have cost us Kawhi. My only hope is that losing Kawhi is a wake up call and better people are brought in from here for 2021 recruiting, clearly Rob is not a guy top free agents walk into a meeting with and come out saying “I want to sign here”. Magic met with LeBron, Rob reportedly didn’t get phone calls last year with Demps. This year only Jeanie and Rob meet with Kawhi, he doesn’t sign. Sometimes, as much as you might like a guy, or root for him to succeed, the reality might be that he shouldn’t be in his position if it starts to cost you big free agents or cost you to have to overpay, even if by a little bit on the margins in every trade you make, because that stuff adds up. It’s a lot of maybes, but they’re worth asking.

I think we did do everything we could have to make this happen in the last couple months. In fact, if we hadn't busted our tails the last two months since Magic became Tragic, Kawhi probably doesn't even look at us. What I'm talking about is all the crap that happened before Magic quit and directly after. I suppose we'll never know what really tilted the scales in those final hours. But I have to believe if the Magic debacle doesn't happen, maybe he doesn't push as hard to get PG to the Clips.

I think it hurt us but not as much as we think
I honestly think snake wanted his own team and no matter how much kang promised him he was afraid the media would still call it kang's team
Look at what Mr rambis said about the shoe deal
He wanted his own and not the big 3 brand
I honestly think he was just selfish and wants to be the main man. But cant really handle the pressure
Look now if the clips do nothing next year who will the media blame.. snake. Or snake jr? My guess is pg.. it will because snake had no help
    That's what he wants

The truth is coming out and all the deception is showing us that he really is not a stand up guy.
If he was he would have been up front with everyone.

But how much easier is the West for you, if you make a team like us THINK you’re coming, so you stop focusing on people like Kyrie and Butler and they go elsewhere?

That’s entirely possible that he had no interest in us and was only stringing us along to prevent us from signing another 3rd max

It's more than likely, it's probable. If our guys do NOT take this personally, they are simply losers. The Clippers finally found a way to have a history with us and to be competitors with us. It's time for us to take our games against them seriously and beat their butts.

After everything that went down this past week, I do believe now we were the last option and hence needed to wait on Kawhi to get word that the OKC trade was a go. If the trade went down sooner im sure it wouldn't have drawn out that long. It must've taken all week to figure things out between OKC/CLIPS. But im satisfied with our roster at this point. Knowing that we will have a better version of cousins than what GSW is something to look forward to.

If I was AEG I would do the same thing as owners of the Staples Center and minority owners of the Lakers. You want to make sure your investment in the Lakers is in good hands and want to make sure the Lakers return to exellence as quickly as possible given their absence from the playoffs for 6 straight years, lack of being serious championship contender following the playoff exit in 2011, the perceived and observed front office ineptness the last handful of years, the inability to develop any of the lottery picks and establish a culture of accountability and winning after Kobe got injured in 2013, and the inability to field a roster and coaching staff that reflects the way the game is being played for the last decade and change. Not to mention how Aaron Mintz, an important agent is basically going to wage war against this team with all his clients after what went down with Russell, Randle, and the Paul George trade rumors-the last thing this team needs is having player agents sabatoging their ability to do business.

It is actually embarrassing when you objectively sit back and take stock of it all. Let’s not even forget how Magic spilled the beans of the conversations he had with Kawhi when his camp didn’t want leaks. Even if he was a loose cannon at that point he still boasts that he advises the Lakers front office.

Answers and an plan of action going forward are needed.

She rightfully needs to hear it. It is completely inexcusable that we lost Jerry West and continue to not have him in our front office. She put her romantic needs above the success of the team, shows how much Jeanie really cares.

Sorry all, super busy today, but I'm currently working on typing out what happened in the meeting. A lot more happened than I was expecting, and I learned a lot of very interesting and pertinent information to the Lakers future. I'll share later tonight.

How convenient people forget, it was actually David Stern that screwed over the Lakers and directly responsible for what they've gone through.

Quit blaming Jeanie, for the whole.

If AEG, etc came into my house talking like that, it'd flip real fast.
