hey @Mr. Rambis ......do you think kawahi played us this whole time? we obviously know now why he was stalling to see if tor/lac would get him his pippen, if lac pr tor couldnt have gotten it done by sat, do you think leonard would've kept stalling?

@Khmrp Well, he didn't exactly "play" anyone. But he did string the Lakers, New Balance, and others along while he waited for Paul George to figure things out. It just is shocking because he didn't leak anything. But nobody, and I mean nobody, knew this was happening. For all the buzz about Woj and others being right, it was just a lucky guess, which is why you didn't hear about who that second star was. And the reason you didn't hear about the Clippers at all the last few days is because Ballmer did the opposite of what he's been doing the whole summer and told the media to stop talking about them as to not scare Kawhi away and risk blowing up the Paul George deal. Everyone, including me, just interpreted the silence as the media realizing the Clippers weren't a threat, when in fact it was the opposite.

The funny thing is, the only people in a position to have caught onto this were the Lakers. They knew Paul George was forced to stay in OKC after the tampering affairs, and that he really did want to be in LA. They just didn't expect him to up and leave so soon, and for the Thunder to cooperate in the manner they did. They could have seen it coming, but were so focused on other things.

Damn, that’s a good pickup, really wish we had done that instead of KCP. Talent really spread well across the whole West.

Looks like the Lakers weren't offering the remaining cap room to him. Likely only 5 mil per.

Can you shed any more light on this comment. This is the first I have heard that PG was forced to stay in OKC.

How would Westbrook even be able to join even if he and Presti were on board with a trade to the Lakers? It seems impossible.

@Banners "Forced" was a poor choice in words, but the Lakers weren't in play last season due to the tampering investigation. That's why there was no free agency meetings for Paul George.

@ShaqFu No idea, they'd have to figure something crazy out, probably with a 3rd team.

Makes no sense to me either, Westbrook is making $44 and $47 mil in the final years of his deal. But, I guess if Morey can trade for whoever he wants at any time there must be ways.

to me it felt like he played us after the lac meeting, i think once the kd/butler signing happened lac must've been told what was needed to get him to sign, same with tor....but he clearly wasted our time after the meetings especially the part where his camp requested us to wait longer knowing full well of the progress west/lac was making or not making with pg trade

@Khmrp Yes he definitely strung the Lakers along, especially because seems like they were last in this whole race all along. But in some ways, it may be a blessing in disguise, as all 3 of these guys have had injury issues recently, and with only minimums to fill out a roster, it might not bode well in the playoffs. Now, we have some good players capable of stepping up, in addition to the stars.
