    Another piece to this strategy could be taking on a somewhat bad contract now using our remaining cap space, to try and get draft pick assets to help with a mid-season move on someone like Beal. I'm not sure we have enough space left to actually get worth while picks, but we could really use them.

    Would prefer if they just got the best FAs available and dropped the idea of trading for another allstar.

    We dont need another all star to win but blowing our cap on KCP, Mcgee isn't going to cut it either.

    That is why pickups like Rondo, Carmelo are going to cause problems.

    Thinking about the salary match for Beal (27m), I don't mind overpaying for Cousins. He is a former all-star with name recognition that could have trade value if he shows improvement before the trade deadline.

    You need around 22-23m to match on Beal. Maybe Green at 15 + Cousins at 8 could get it done.

    At this point, Carmelo is moving down the list for the Lakers. They are searching for depth that can contribute in a more well-rounded fashion.

    I don’t think they have money for Morris, right? Kawhi will get full max, PG makes full max, doesn’t trading for PG put them close to being out of money if not actually out?

    I would go for cousins now. He gives us something off the bench. Clippers are thin and short in the paint. Can't give them more balance.

    It's freaking unbelievable how some are losing their minds over this. As if the entire western conference is going to lay down for Kawhi and we don't have two of the top five players in the world
