Oh man! Just saw that! That’s a ton of money for him. A lot of big contracts being thrown around this year. Either teams are making bad financial decisions or I’m not fully acclimated to the new standards!!!

Steve Blake was hurt or had the measles for way too much of his career here.

He was allergic to attempting layups. I can recall maybe 3 he took in his LA career. He loved to dribble under the hoop baseline and then back out to the 3 point line again, ahh how I don’t miss that.

Caphold was 3m, so based on who signs first (ie Mcgruder then Kawhi) and no one gets stetched or waived, cLips could be potentially dipping into Kawhi max money.

McGruber? I thought this was an Onion article at first, posing as an NBA insider doing an update.

With Mcgruder (3m caphold), Zu (2m caphold), their draft pick rookie (2m caphold), P. Bev's caphold before his new deal (11m caphold), along with trading for Harkless (11m), they still got roughly 32m in cap space.

Depending on who signs first with their new deals (Kawhi would obviously sign first), the cLips can lose their max cap space based off that order.

Also they can stretch-waive Gallo or Harkless as a fail-safe to get any lost cap space back. They also got 2 unguaranteed minimum deals they can waive to create extra wiggle on their capsheet.

cLips are not out of play and won't be out of play till Kawhi commits to either us or the raps. They have alot of outs.

All he ever did was dribble into traffic, then try to pass the ball out of said traffic, usually resulting in a turnover. That was his signature move. And that’s when he didn’t have the measles, and when he wasn’t backing over parking lot spikes. The one not-negative thing I can say is that I did see him at the El Segundo IHOP once, which is a thing.

Clips are going to be in it until the very end, doubt anyone will sign a player that will prevent them from offering the max. Until Kawhi announces his decision, we will continue to see deals like this and vet mins.

They have to be, they’re more ‘Kawhi or bust’ than we are. All the teams ahead of them last year in the West either stayed the same or got better aside from the Warriors, and the Grizzlies, Kings and Mavs probably took a step forward too. You’d assume we’d be better than them too even if Kawhi went back to Toronto having LeBron and AD.

I swear, I was about to post the same thing. :D I honestly thought it was a joke about McGruber.
