The guys on The Jump said that Cousins would be good in Miami if he doesn't stay in Golden State. They said he should sign a one year deal and work himself back into shape on a second unit. I don't really like him that much so I would take a pass even if he would come on a deal.

Y'all are getting way too caught up in these FAs. :D

Plenty of good guys still out there. Everything will be fine. And there's no rule saying FA is the only way we fill out this roster.

While I don't begrudge anyone for making the best decision they can for themselves, I also wish Kawhi would s*** or get off the pot. Too late now really anyway, as all the lower tier FAs of any renown are already gone, but his decision has a cascading effect and affects a LOT of people all over the league. Kind of selfish to drag it on this long. This is day three. Sh*t should have been done already.

If he is a shrinking violet, the reluctant superstar who doesn't really like attention, he is going about attaining that result the wrong way. He has ALL the attention now.

Maybe he didn't think that through. Maybe he really does love the spotlight, but his angle to get more of it is to pretend he doesn't like it.

If he doesn't want the spotlight, the Lakers are the way to go. Everywhere else he will be THE man, the main attraction, the thing that brings people to the games.

On the Lakers he will be one of three, and he can take the quiet route and defer to Lebron and AD for the lion's share of the publicity.

I'm told there's internal interest for the Lakers re: Demarcus Cousins. Lakers officials are currently waiting on Kawhi's decision to understand the scope of offers they can make.

I've had a running list of some hundred guys.

Rajon Rondo, Emmanuel Mudiay, TJ McConnell, Jeremy Lin, Delon Wright (R), Tyus Jones (R), Nando De Colo, Quinn Cook (R), Alex Caruso, Jerian Grant, Jerryd Bayless, Shabazz Napier, Ryan Arcidiacono, Devin Harris, Shane Larkin, Raymond Felton, Shelvin Mack, Milos Teodosic, Brad Wanamaker, Jose Calderon, Isaiah Canaan, Chasson Randle, Cameron Payne, Ron Baker, Briante Weber, Isaiah Briscoe, Ty Lawson, Norris Cole, Edmond Sumner (R),

SG: Kawhi Leonard, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Avery Bradley, Justin Holiday, Lance Stephenson, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, David Nwaba, Vince Carter, Rodney McGruder (R), Iman Shumpert, Nik Stauskas, Jamal Crawford, Jodie Meeks, Justin Anderson, Alex Abrines, Wayne Selden, Ian Clark, Patrick McCaw (R), Furkan Korkmaz, Jimmer Fredette, John Jenkins, MarShon Brooks, Tyler Dorsey, Nick Young, Ben McLemore, Jordan Crawford, Damion Lee (R), Brandon Paul, PJ Dozier,

SF: Danny Green, Andre Iguodala, Jabari Parker, Kelly Oubre (R), Wilson Chandler, Thabo Sefolosha, Sam Dekker, Stanley Johnson, Jake Layman (R), Corey Brewer, Luc Mbah a Moute, Darius Miller, Luol Deng, JaKarr Sampson, Wesley Johnson, Troy Williams (R), Quincy Pondexter, Mindaugas Kuzminskas, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Devin Robinson, Mitch Creek (R), Alex Poythress, Shabazz Muhammad

PF: Marcus Morris, Kenneth Faried, Markieff Morris, JaMychal Green, Carmelo Anthony, Anthony Tolliver, Jonas Jerebko, Trey Lyles (R), Omri Casspi, Dorian Finney-Smith, Michael Beasley, Quincy Acy, Henry Ellenson, Derrick Williams, Chris Singleton, Zach Randolph, Johnathan Motley, Udonis Haslem,

C: DeMarcus Cousins, Javale McGee, Ivica Zubac, Boban Marjanovic, Daniel Theis (R), Pau Gasol, Nene, Joakim Noah, Amir Johnson, Zaza Pachulia, Marcin Gortat, Greg Monroe, Salah Mejri, Tyson Chandler, Kosta Koufos, Ekpe Udoh, Cheick Diallo, Kehm Birch (R), Gustavo Ayon, Luke Kornet, Donatas Motiejunas, Tyler Zeller, Kevin Seraphin, Johnathan Williams (R), Andrew Nicholson, Alan Williams

TJ McConnell, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Justin Holiday, Iman Shumpert, Danny Green, Jabari Parker, Marcus and Markieff Morris, Kenneth Faried, Javale McGee, Nene. All of those guys are rotation level players for sure. There's plenty of names on this list that are replacement level players as well. That doesn't even include potential buyouts like Iguodala and Bradley. And worst come to worst and Kawhi picks someone else, we can always trade for a contract that people don't want but is a serviceable player like Kevin Love or Goran Dragic.

Be patient. Kawhi is worth waiting for, everything else will be fine.

Also free agency isn't the end. You have until around playoff time to get your team to championship level.

Buyout candidates - Iggy, Korver, Bradley, Baynes
    Trade candidates - Dragic

Our roster in the end will be competitive.

I thought he'd wait for the Lakers, but maybe he got sick of waiting. Utah is looking really good.

Utah has done a great job with depth. Even with Conley injury prone that roster is as stable as any team in the league coming out of free agency.

I’d easily taken McConnell, Bradley, Iggy, Morris, McGee. Plenty of names left.
