Doubted is one thing. I definitely did.

But they were pretty much calling him an idiot who didn't get the basics of how the salary cap worked. Multiple reports of him calling the Pelicans back to try and rework the deal based on basic knowledge that most of us fully understood.

It was just over the top.

And we're fans. We get to be irrational and throw things at the wall from time to time. This is their job. They are held to a much higher standard.

I have to think so. Can't see Davis waiving his kicker otherwise.

Yeah, well, I wanted him gone. Kudos to Jeanie for sticking with him; and for Rob to create the cap space needed.

Does this mean there’s strong hints a max free agent is coming?

There was talk AD was hesitant to waive his trade bonus and that Pelinka would only clear the additional space if we knew we had a good chance of getting someone.

Having said all that, well done Rob. He redeemed himself on the narrative that the max cap space was a oversight. I’m honestly surprised it was Washington who stepped up to help us out, they are in luxury tax hell lol.

i never doubted that the lakers could get max space if they wanted.

now i just hope it wasn't all for naught like our second max slot last year.

and they'll be declared winners for it. kyrie/horford/rozier for kemba walker--would danny have pulled the trigger on that at the deadline? methinks not.

Surprised we couldn't get anything of value (like get back a 2nd for all those 3).

Wagner to me has value for like 2 2nds.

I gotta believe AD waiving his trade-kicker on top of all this means the Lakers know something we don't about a max guy coming here. No way AD leaves $4 million on the table just so the Lakers have $32 mil versus $28 mil to spread around non-max players.

For sure I'd be shocked if he waived his 4m trade kicker to get... I don't know Danny Green? There's a good chance he did waive his trade kicker just to give us some room to work with, but... I have my doubts that's what happened here. It definitely would be weird if he waived that trade kicker just to help us nab a guy.

I love it. I love everything about it.

ESPN should send someone to check on Woj, make sure he’s still breathing after tweeting that.

We take care of our stars. I’m sure we wouldn’t have asked him to waive it unless we have someone coming already. Bad look to have him waive it for naught.

Plus with all the reports of done deals, you gotta think Rob has been tampering as well, just a little smarter this time (hopefully).
