Boston has its own deadline for when it could emerge and close deals. Tampering against the C Bags and clippers are non existent. But if we just blink at a free agent it's $500,000 fine lol

Amazing how easily the C Bags can create cap space compared to how difficult it is for us. That Danny Ainge is really something

It's easy to create cap space when everyone leaves you.

I guess only Lakers can't talk to players. Every other team can tamper as much as they want, got it... makes sense.

I’m not even worried that Boston was able to clear salary cap space so easily only to sign Kemba.

They will essentially tie up $70 million a season between a 30 year old Kemba and Gordon Hayward who still isn’t back to his Normal self

Players can talk. Hoping Bron/AD have someone in the bag.

Yeah. If Kawhi stays in Toronto and Philly can resign one of Tobias Harris and Jimmy Butler, the C Bags will be the 4th best team in the East, at best.

    P.Bev as a contingency...sure.

However Kemba as a contingency looks to be off the board.

I guess the C Bags are better “scramblers” then us. :Brows:

What are you talking about? This was their plan all along and they're just 2 steps ahead of everyone else at all times.

I was never happy with the Kemba contingency. If we are being completely honest, we have a third option on the team already in Kuzma. He did average over 18 ppg last season which is plenty for a third option when your first two options are LBJ and AD. The need for the third star to me comes down to replacing Lebron once he gets old. Kemba doesn't fit that. 6' nothing" guards don't do well after age 30...the age Kemba will be at the start of this contract. D'Lo, while not as good as Kemba has probably 3-4 more years before he even hits his prime. If we get the full 32 in cap space and Kawhi doesn't want to sign with us, 25 on D'Lo and 7 on Wesley Matthews is a better option than 32 on Kemba. Room exception on Darren Collison. Minimum contracts to McGee, Vinsanity, Korver, Melo, Caruso and maybe Nerlens Noel. That team it the title favorites.

Is this "NBA vs. Lakers" a little overdone?

i'm not sure boston will get him. and if they do, they have to lose irving, horford, and rozier. so they get worse.

    by lakers fans?

maybe a bit. but to suggest that the rules are applied evenly is pretty silly. magic got fined for saying giannis would win a title in milwaukee. meanwhile, houston and boston already have agreements with other teams' free agents.

They did pull Horford and Hayward in back to back years. I think they had a little bit of recruiting luck due to Big Papi (Dominican connection) and Stevens (Butler connection), respectively, but I can't deny that they managed to get two of the bigger free agents in the market during consecutive years.

I think some of the luster has worn off of Boston with all the drama, and clearly they have shown a hard time keeping guys, but I wanna see them fall on their faces this year before I completely count em out in the future as a free agent destination. Cuz even though they got results with Horford and Hayward, I've lurked on their forums and their fans think it was a little bit of fool's gold thanks to the factors I mentioned.

they'll keep tucker, i bet. butler's a huge upgrade on gordon, and capela's hugely overrated, imo.

all they do is pound iso and defend. who else does that? morey will just stock the end of the roster with ring-chasers who will defend and won't complain.

we don't want this to happen.

also: hayward and horford were both second-tier FAs they signed to maxes. you're doing it wrong. only give max to tier-1 guys--that's where the value lies. they can't get off hayward's deal without a serious talent downgrade AND taking back bad salary now. is part of that the injury? sure. the other part is that he was never a top shelf nba player.
