Please read my most recent post in this thread...pretty please.

But still if you don't want to. I'll try my best to do a tl;dr here.

With THT trade official, the pre-AD trade has us with 32m in cap space with 10 cap holds (Bron, Zo, Bi, unsigned #4, Moe, Kuz, Hart, Bonga, JJ, unsigned THT), Deng dead cap and 2 incomplete roster charges.

Signing Kawhi (or any other max) removes a 900k incomplete charge since now our cap holds include 11 players.

Now instead of signing a max, let's say it's a 10m player. Now we have 22m in cap space but an additional 900k incomplete cap charge becomes available, so now our cap space becomes 22.9m, meaning if we gave that entire amount to a 2nd player we would have paid those 2 players an accumulated 32.9m.

Now if we sign a 2nd player to less than 22.9m...then another incomplete roster charge of 900k opens up in cap.

The tl;dr version worked great! I don't have the attention span for the full version but this made complete sense.

Seriously though, what’s the situation with Caruso? Do the projections to get our max slot account for us not having Caruso? So if we use our cap, our only option to re-sign him would be with a minimum contract?

    No worries bud :Beertoast2:

Btw, the incomplete roster charges only hold till the roster/cap holds gets filled to 12 spots. After that, the cap is reflective as is, which is why Pincus stopped at 3 players for an accumulated 33.8m. As we stand, the Lakers have 2 incomplete roster charges which will allow 1.8m to come back in potential cap space.

    Collison, Green & Lopez wouldn't be a bad plan B if we can't add a 3rd Max.

All shooters & all Vets on reasonable deals.

Green was pretty terrible in the playoffs so I could see why some might be hesitant in signing him.

Is he still considered a 3&D guy? Like how has his defense held up the past few years?

Going with some of the numbers in that thread from Marks, I would do:

Collison for 8 mil, Redick for 10 mil, Lopez for 10 mil (Marks hasn’t commented on his price range but I think that’s reasonable), Ariza for 4 mil (slight paycut from what Marks said), and Curry for MLE (about 5 million from what I understand). Hopefully bring back McGee for the minimum and Korver if he’s bought out.

    Collison / Curry
    Redick / Korver
    James / Ariza
    Davis / Kuzma
    Lopez / McGee

Yeah He fills the back end of our rotation. Meaning, I think he is a food 14th or 15 guy on the roster

Well I actually agreed with you on this for the most part. Especially the Zu trade which while I didn’t like it, I thought the hype around it was just too much.

I’m full conspiracy mode on Woj / Ramona at this point.

That was a hit job on the franchise and Rob. Can’t recall much like it honestly. The misrepresentations and lies were blatant and over the top.

I don’t even like Rob and spent a solid month arguing why he should be fired and I still thought he was unfairly attacked and called a moron by anyone with a mic and / or Twitter account.

Yeah. It was just too much and the truth was easy to put together and was by randoms on Twitter.

I don’t know all the behind the scenes stuff that lead to it but Woj definitely is anti Laker and anti LeBron.

Danny Green is a hard yes for me IF we don’t sign Kawhi. Team first player. Still plays effective D. Still one of the better 3 balls in the league. Yes, he had a subpar playoffs this year, but he won one Finals game for the Raps, and he has plenty left in the tank.
