    eh, maybe.

on the other hand, i respect making your own way rather than teaming/ganging up.

we have lebron and anthony davis. that should be enough to contend. adding kawhi is almost unfair. i think kawhi a) has already proven he's a champion and b) isn't afraid of a challenge.

if i'm him, i stay in toronto. and then i'd pick lac over lal. i don't want that to happen, though. i'd LOVE for him to show up here, and would immediately forgive the lack of competitive spirit due to my homerism.

btw, if kawhi does leave TOR and leads another team to a title, that would be a first, right? finals mvp with three different teams?

The reason I don’t see it as unfair is because of LeBron’s age and mileage. If LeBron were 30, sure, but he’s probably got 2 great to very good years left, and if we’re smart we will try to limit his workload some to avoid another injury like he had last season. LeBron will be either gone or seriously declined after 3 more years and then it would be Kawhi and AD’s team, likely actually his team before that.

Not to mention he's been wanting to come home and preferred us before Bron signed and the AD trade happened.

Unlike KD, who left a team up 3-1 against a 73-9 regular season winning team that made it to the Finals two consecutive years, Kawhi would be leaving Toronto with a title to join a Laker team that has missed the postseason 6 years straight, to a Bron team that missed the postseason for the first time since '04/05 and to link up with AD who has not had playoff success.

Now bring in the Uncle Dennis factor where he wants Kawhi's brand power to exponentially grow and that would be the reason he chooses us over the cLips or Raps.

When it comes to competitive spirit, this is a vastly different situation to previous versions of a team up.

Kawhi's shelf life with the Clippers is 3 years if he is hobbled he'll get dispatched like Blake Griffin. Enjoy Minnesota or Detroit. Ballmer's hush money have quieted the media of this fact though, Jenkins doing a mighty fine job distributing

those are both fair takes, but i just think it's easier to see it that way as laker fans. not sure others would agree in either case.

good news is: i AM sure kawhi doesn't care.

I would love Jonathan Simmons if he gets bought out by the Wizards. He would be a great backup shooting guard who is capable of starting if needed... and he would cost the minimum if he gets bought out.

Does this seem to you like a kind of s***ty thing to do? Post rumors about a guy, suggesting in cryptic language he’s carrying this fatal flaw. If you’re not on board with saying what you’ve heard, why post anything? It’s not like you’re honoring a promise or respecting his privacy. Or am I missing something?

Everyone knows about partying in the past. Possibly drugs and alcohol in the past. And marijuana now. Drugs and alcohol can end careers, but we all know about it. Marijuana doesn’t of itself end careers. It probably extends them.

In fairness to @D-Fish Man he really would have only brought it up once like back when the trade happened, and didn't tell. And we all keep jerkng with him. Some of us anyways.

I have no idea what Kawhi will do.

But I think the constant negative media buzz has made our chances seem worse than they are and boosted up the Clippers to insane levels.

I have to think a part of him knows they wouldn’t have won it this year absent the injuries to the Warriors. If he really wants to win he’d head straight to us to link up with LeBron and AD. As others have said, he’s not coming as a sidekick. He’d be coming to help save the franchise.

There’s more than enough stardom and spotlight to go around on our team. He'd be second fiddle to no one and there's no doubt all of us fans would embrace him immediately.

On the other hand, he had as successful a season as you could with the Raptors. He’s a legend for their franchise already and could just build his legacy there even further.

I don’t understand going to the Clippers. I just don't and its not even a dislike thing.

Looking at it as objectively as I can, the biggest thing for them is their supposed great organization. But the Spurs have one of the best orgs in the league in most people's opinions and he left that behind.

He's in a better organization now with the Raptors than he'd have with the Clippers. He has a better team there than he'd have with the Clippers. He is literally a hero for an entire country.

Can't rule anything out, but I just wouldn't get it. I think having a great organization is definitely a plus, but I don't see how that alone is so enticing. Especially when we're here with the much better history and as much of a lock for Finals birth if he signed up as he could get.

I think he stays put. If he leaves then I like our chances especially once LeBron and AD head to wherever and make the sales pitch.

To answer your question, there are no rules to any of this, accept for the ones we make up on the spot and then apply retroactively. Is it s***ty? I don’t know. There’s no tablet buried underground somewhere with the answer.
But as @LTLakerFan pointed out, I only ever brought this up because when the trade went down, there was a robust debate going on here about whether we gave up too much just to dump Mozgov’s horrific contract. And I wanted people to know that while D-Lo showed a lot of promise, there were very, VERY good reasons to get him off our roster while his value was still high. And therefore, in my view, we didn’t lose much with the trade. We’ll see if that bears out over time but the issues have not gone away.
And while I know we’re all somewhat anonymous on here and none of you would recognize me on the street if I walked up and but you on the a**, I can ASSURE you that past partying and substance abuse would not matter to me, ESPECIALLY if it was something as trivial as weed.
