This could be good for us but we still need to purchase second round picks....MIN has the 43rd pick, so maybe we can get that from them while we send out Wagner, Bonga and Jones (non-guaranteed salary so he can be waived) immediately)

With that said...We need to get to work on this ASAP...other prime trade partners for this would be ATL, PHI and SAC.

I'm looking especially at PHI because they only have like 5 players under contract for next year so they'll need bodies and I would think that Wagner holds better value than some of their 2nd round picks...and Bonga probably holds better value than their 54th pick...if we can extract the 42nd and 54th picks from PHI (while they keep their 33rd and 34th picks) for Wagner, Bonga and Jones (who has a non-guaranteed salary and can be waived)...that's great value for them and they'll essentially get 4 role players all on cheap contracts while they try and fill out the rest of the team.

I’m not signing DLo to any contract until @D-Fish Man spills on the juicy details of what he knows.

I would be extremely happy to get Kyrie if Kawhi doesn't come. He's perfect for this team.

Would be hilarious if they ended up trading away Harden so they could get Butler.

Man...Ramona going on The Jump earlier and saying all of that plus Tania's report from LA Times has really discouraged me on what the Lakers are trying to do here. I think that Rob was just trying to get AD and then figure the rest out later...he was probably confident that he could dump Wagner/Bonga so that we could match salaries in the AD trade but it looks like he blew his load too soon and now everyone is laughing at us....again.

AD needs to waive his damn trade bonus, and then we'll just have to dump Wagner/Bonga elsewhere and we'll get to about $29.4M i believe. It's not ideal, but it's close enough to the max. Then you try and convince Kawhi or Kyrie to come for slightly less and do a 2+1 deal with them...make up the difference in lost $ in their contracts through endorsements, and tada! Everyone is happy.

But seriously, I am not liking this one bit that we dropped the ball on the execution of this. Summer League just HAD to be July 5-15 didn't it? Earliest we could complete the deal is July 20th..only 2 weeks after July 6th. Unreal. I hope we can make this work somehow but I'm less optimistic now...

Looks like Pels are trying to snare RJ Barrett to pair with Zion.

Also Bucks make room to match Bogdon and keep Middleton and not get killed in taxes.

This is click bait. No way we are looking at Al for that kind of money and/or years.

Why have your top 3 players be unable to play together when it's winning time in a playoff game lol. Everyone knows it's gonna be LeBron-AD at the 4-5 closing games unless Kuzma learns how to go Ultra Instinct on Defense from RonRon during this off-season.

    Exactly

Most to spend on a C is 8-10M for Brook or Dedmon, if not, get Robin Lopez for the minimum for bigger Cs? Joakim noah would be nice if Lebron and Noah didn't hate each other

That's why the new rumor of Kyrie not going to the Nets makes sense. If the Nets want Kyrie, they shouldnt keep D-Lo. They wont work well together.

Did I just hear Brian Windbag say that the Conley trade "rocked the NBA"? "Missing piece". What is wrong with this idiot?

Are all the ESPN insiders on crack? Are they trolling everyone?

In trading for Mike Conley, the Utah Jazzannounced themselves as a legitimate contender to make the Finals next season and swiped the first domino in what is set up to be an interesting and unpredictable point guard market.

I keep hearing that the Pels are stonewalling everything Pelinka is trying to retroactively do because they do better if the Lakers do worse. What would happen if the Lakers took Garland at #4 tomorrow when the Pels told them to take someone else? Do the Pels blow up the deal? What would their plan B consist of at that point? The C Bags? Obviously if Rob were to renege on the deal outright it would be a death blow for any other GM working with him again, but it's different if the Pels are the ones freaking out and pulling the plug. I say this because I've always been fine with grabbing someone like Butler now and waiting until 2020 to get AD.

This deal cannot fall apart, it would be devastating for us, our players would never be the same here like when the CP3 trade was vetoed. You also do not renege on a deal in the NBA as a GM, no way, can never be trusted again, horrible way to run things. And as far as adding Butler then AD next year, I don’t think it works that way. Pretty sure the only reason we can get AD AND 3rd max guy was because we are trading for AD and the plan was/is to have that max cap room for the 3rd guy, then finish the trade after and absorb him into our space in a roundabout way. If we signed a max free agent this summer I believe there is no money left for one next summer, it’s why we had to go all in on AD now for this whole thing to work.
