    No, they can buy the 2nd rounders and then use it to free up more money for the max. I do not know how it works but that's the work around.

    So, with the Lakers maxing 3 contracts, does that allow them THIS off season to have the MLE as well? Lakers are literally going to have 3 players under contract after this, I cant imagine the other 9 players will be getting the minimum.

    There is a part of me that says, “what else is he supposed to do?” At the height of their run CP3 was booed at Dodgers stadium. That is beautiful Los Angeles schadenfruade, and that has to be crushing to anyone involved with the Clips.

    See, part of me is happy and the other part of me feels like we’re stretching ourselves too far just to be taken serious.

    Ask Davis to waive his bonus and live with the 28 mil. I feel like getting rid of the rest that weren’t traded seems a little petty now.

    I’m in the minority on this I bet. I understand.

    I don’t think Bonga or Mo are going to be Stars, it just seems crazy to me to try this hard now.

    It works out because scrubs go to get paid, but decent role players are often inclined to go ring chasing. It happens all the time, every possible title team has players join for that shot at a ring, and then they get paid again after that if they’re still young enough, or if they boosted their value while going after and possibly earning that ring.

    Yeah, think Miller and Battier on those Heat teams. I think they basically got the MLE or less and for sure could have gotten bigger contracts elsewhere. And both came up huge at separate times in key games in the two finals.
