Heard this second-hand so take it with a grain of salt, but apparently, Jarrett Culver's workout with the Lakers was good pretty much everywhere except he didn't shoot the ball well and that's something they are concerned about.

Garland left the combine early. Everyone thought Phoenix gave him that promise, but why would he stop with Phoenix?

I definitely think the Lakers gave him that promise knowing full well the top 3 is already set and being a Klutch klient. He knows what he's doing with RP in his ear.

Would love to have him if it comes to that. He's smooth and he puts them in the hoop for sure. But something always looks a little off to me with his left hand. Check the 2 or 3 shots starting at 50 seconds in. Nothing big if that's his stroke but seems the left hand comes off maybe too soon and even flies backward. That's the best angle I've seen to look at it. I think it's the flying backward motion that catches your eye to not being a pure release. Can see it well in the opening shots too. Bet a shooting coach ;) ;) would work with him a bit on it.

Shooting is done with your dominant hand anyway. It seems like when he pushes the ball forward with his shooting hand, he doesn't just leave the guide hand where it was, he actually pulls it back. Doing some research, shooting coaches want you to keep that hand steady, but it doesn't seem to be effecting the shot or slowing down the release. It's consistent everytime through. Lonzo on the other hand can't get his shot off as fast, nor can he keep it consistent.

It’s easy to go easy on us for one day here and there when she had 200-some other days of flat out bashing. My point was she always feels the need to take a shot and laugh whenever we are discussed. “the Lakers were quite a scene last year, hahahaha *sigh*, I’m so funny”.

like culver, he brings it a bit low for my taste (watch klay for the difference), but that's range and pretty quick release.

i'd gamble on his skill at 4 over the athleticism and nba readiness of the other possibilities.
