I like Mr. Rambis for the simple fact that he's already made a disclaimer that what he says should be taken with a grain of salt, he's been courteous even after we "rookie hazed" him and most importantly, he's spurring on discussion. It's thorough & detailed explanations and not some clandestine one line throw aways. I at the very least applaud the effort.

    But...

In terms of Kidd and Hollins, I believe Mr. Rambis was a day late on dropping those names here, cause Woj dropped it the night before on sportcenter (stick around till the end of the clip).

Maybe Mr. Rambis is plugged in, but in this particular case we all knew Kidd was on our radar during the season while Luke was still here...his name kept floating around...as for Hollins being Rambis's guy, Woj said that verbatim on May 8th.

All that said, keep posting strong Mr. Rambis and keep driving discussion.

    Hi @Barnstable !

I posted a detailed explanation in the pinned thread about free agency. Not sure if you have seen that yet.

In case you have, since then, I do not have anything new. I was going to just now post over there, but I texted for some updates about an hour ago and was told that things are going to be confidential on the AEG side for a bit. This was from a long-time colleague/friend so if he's saying that, things are going to be tight lipped for the near future. I hope to have more for you soon.

    Alrighty random few questions

    1. How do you think that meeting with aeg and the consultants will effect the lakers free agency max star chase?

    2. If they trade for AD and did keep one of the young core, which player would they most likely keep?

    3. Do you believe that rob will feel as if conceding to kurts pressure will empower kurt and thus wont concede to him?

    4. Hows lebron going to react if they say they wont chase a max free agent

    5. What are the odds they dont make any trades this offseason in your opinion?

Honestly, it would probably be risking his job if he put it out there too explicitly.

He’s a consultant to AEG, but isn’t an employee of them. That’s all we should probably know

Hi @myunibrodavis ! Nice to meet you. Nice username too! Can't tell if you forgot the "w" or if it is supposed to say "bro" as a joke, but very creative nonetheless!

    To answer your questions...

    1. I have no idea. I've been locked out of any and all discussion regarding that as of now. Maybe when things settle I'll know more.

    2. My hunch is that the Lakers and LeBron want to keep Lonzo Ball above all. But, from what I understand he is the most coveted asset we have. So, we'll have to see how that playos out.

    3. Kurt is already extremely powerful in the Lakers organization. He was slipping up for a bit and almost was made an assistant coach, but even despite his amateur corporate politics he has influence. He'll continue to play a role for the Lakers free agency and draft. I don't know if Rob will concede to his pressure. I just know Kurt wants to pull the trigger soon.

    4. He won't be happy, but he's not leaving LA until his player option. He's here to set up his business ventures for his post-playing career, which will take time.

    5. It's fairly likely the Lakers make at least 1 trade this off season.

On a completely different note, great to have so many new members suddenly register here! I'm excited to see the discussion that comes moving forward in the offseason!

I'm a independent consultant, but really more of a dealmaker that facilitates global partnerships. Just something to do since I'd hope I'm still too young to retire ;)

I'm not employed by AEG or the Lakers, but have worked with top guys at AEG for a long time.

Mr. Rambis is starting to get traction on Reddit. Maybe Mr. Rambis’ friend found it and so they temporarily shuts everybody down.

Im more asking if rob is aware of kurt being underhanded and if he feels threatened and if he might not do it to assert his place

Also, kinda sad about a trade prolly being made. Do they not think the young core is ready at all? (Obv a davis trade is fine though lmao, i just thought they really valued the young core)

Lakerswiz sighting in the comments in that link. I wonder how many mattresses or shady NBA streams he’s pawned off on people?

i don't think trading a young core for a top-5 nba player in his prime means you don't value the core. odds that all together end up more valuable than davis at any point over the next 4 years are pretty slim, particularly given their age. hazards of drafting 19 year olds.

and if davis was 30, i'd be against paying such a high price. but there's no reason to expect any major decline in his game over the next few years. with him in place and our drawing power, just getting davis alone could right the ship in ways ingram/ball/kuz/#4 may never be able to.

For me, it boils down to this:

Is AD a superstar? Yes. Top 5 in the game.
Is BI, Zo, Kuz, or 4th pick a superstar? No. Could they be?... Maybe. I don't see IT. Perennial All star (level) is more likely for a couple of them.

Superstars attract superstars. Team up is the name of the game in today's NBA. We have a small window to win with Bron here. Get the talent and worry about the rest after. That's why at the end of the day, even though it shouldn't take that much (and I'm hoping it doesn't), I'm ok with the godfather offer for AD.

Well while we’ve stunk over here he’s gotten a crappy franchise to the playoffs twice in a stacked Western Conference including sweeping a good Blazers team just last season. And I know there’s a war on stats around here for whatever reason but the 47 point 10 rebound game he put in to clinch that sweep was pretty impressive to the rest of us.

How far do we want to go there? Leading his college team to a championship? High school?

Davis is clearly talented and worth going after.
