If Davis trade talks don't materialize into Davis becoming a Laker, Cousins might be an option, too.

Would not be surprised if we signed Cousins to a one year 25 million dollar contract and like Wesley Matthews to a one year 8 million dollar deal. Draft Garland. Resign Caruso and McGee.

    Cousins/McGee
    Kuzma/Wagner
    Lebron/Matthews
    Ingram/Hart
    Lonzo/Garland

    Yippee?

it's not great. it's kinda like what would have happened if we just kept lopez and chose an nba caliber wing instead of stephenson last year.

but with word coming out that kawhi might take a one-year, and with the davis sweepstakes still undecided...

A team of 5 consultants sent by the NBA flew into LA last night and are in the Lakers corporate offices right now doing due diligence. AEG is scheduled to meet with them tomorrow. I'm not a part of this meeting but am flying into LA tomorrow morning so I will try to sneak in and see if there's anything interesting.

Consultants doing due diligence on what, how incompetent and unprofessional our FO and ownership group has become?

They've already spoken to Jeanie and Rob numerous times on previous occasions. What's going on now is they're interviewing lower level and day-to-day staff, going through roadmaps, plans, and other documents to figure out the actual state of the front office and what it will take to make the Lakers a relevant team again. Once that's done, they'll fly back to New York and then quietly come back with a much larger team who will help handle the draft, trades, and free agency.

They should accomplish the bulk of their work today. If I get into this meeting tomorrow, I'll hopefully have a good sense of what their assessment is and what direction they'll push the Lakers in.

    Best,
    Mr. Rambis

Thanks for the insight. Anschutz and Co are good business people. Maybe the Buss Family Circus will be made an offer they cant refuse.

This sounds like what happened in New Orleans when Stern took them over. Different circumstances of course. This is a failure of ownership, grade F for Jeanie and her pals.

I'm not complaining, but how do the Lakers get these consultants to right the ship, but the Knicks have been a dumpster fire for decades?

reminds me of "office space" when consulting team comes in and "evaluates" what everyone job is lol....rob would be like that fat engineering guy who just brings over the plan to the other engineer but his explanation was no one can do that like he can, jeanie should be the duchey boss who delogates all his work onto the main character
