I agree, the Lakers have done their due diligence with potential trades. It's just that teams choose to spite the Lakers over a grudge, jealousy, etc even if the offered packages were more than fair.

    West got deals done.

    So did Mitch.

Rob should be able to do the same since he’s our guy now and we passed on top talent.

No excuses. Mend those fences and improve our team.

I don’t blame the Lakers for Kawhi. They could have traded for Paul George, it’s clear the #2 and Ingram probably would have done it, but not Kawhi. Popovich made it pretty clear he’d send Kawhi to the moon before he’d send him to the Lakers, and he pretty much did sending him to Toronto. A team so damaged and mentally fragile they fired the coach that had them as the #1 seed in the east and had to bench their star player in crunch time because he fell apart so badly. It’s clear we tried to trade away half the team and multiple first round picks for AD too, can’t trade with teams that aren’t willing to negotiate. But if stars become available for what we have to offer we have to go for it next time, no more cap rollover. I don’t get the crapping on Beal I’m seeing either. I remember when the wizards played us he was keeping them in it by himself, he is a true star (all-star star, not superstar, there’s a difference), you can’t win by yourself if your team is garbage around you though. I think Beal would be really good next to LeBron. Of course my top target would be Kawhi in free agency and AD in a trade though.

Again, That’s not the direction my post was meant to go . My point is whenever there is a star player that is up for a trade, there is always discussion on here about whether we should trade our assets or just wait and let them walk to us next year. I’m saying our mentality on this board should not be let’s wait a year and see what happens, it should be let’s pony up and get stuff done.

Whether teams want to deal with us or how many attempts the Lakers made at trading is not the point. It’s the mentality that nothing will change in a year and we can just wait on star players to come to LA. I used PG and Kawhi as examples of how much things change in a year.

In terms of AD, the Lakers can do whatever they see fit, the Pelicans can act however they want, but the mentality on this board should be not to just wait a year, it should be to be aggressive and go and get him.

We can get a Lonzo/Ingram/Kuzma in the draft by sucking almost every year, you cannot get an AD every year.

Well, the mentality of the board doesn't really matter, does it now...?

Unless we like watching a losing product every year, making tank threads, overrating our youth, etc...

I love saying, watching and doing all those things.

Another day, another Lakers exposé. Pretty confident with Rob still around we can still screw up this draft, we can screw up free agency, and we can botch trade discussions for any star by overplaying our hand yet again in negotiations. Yet Jeanie sits silent in her tower while the inmates run the asylum, so tired of this crap every week.

It’s cool though, I’m sure. Probably. Maybe. Whatever.

Every day there seems to be a new "As the Laker World Turns" drama piece. Good lord, like, we get it. Any chance to crap on the franchise, but sheesh, this is just getting out of hand now and borderline asinine with the media.

    Just over it already.

I’m only here for the members. If it was based only on basketball, I wouldn’t be here. I’ve entered apathetic land.

    I strongly disagree.

The best thing that can happen to us is the media keep shi***** on this front office. Thats our only powerful tool to get rid of this tools...

Yes, that day can be pinned down to the downfall of Pelinka and ultimately Jeanie.
