"Riley & Myers would have jumped at this job"

And he knows this how? LOL. Riley has already been quoted not interested hasn't he? And for now Myers is still the guy debuting the new arena next year. Anyway.

710 had commentary from Riley post Magic appearance on PTI, Riley actually said he might have been interested (due to sentimental reasons) but no one from LA actually contacted him.

The title of this thread annoys me.

    Queen of the Lakers?

At least she is doing something right. Keeping her mouth shut. Damage control by going to the media isn't gonna help at all. Nothing she can say will dampen the damage already done by Earvin Johnson. No one in the media is gonna take the Lakers' side on this one.

I pray to God she does not take to twitter or any type of social media to defend herself or the Lakers. The best thing to do right now; complete silence and go on doing normal business like nothing has happened.

She doesn't have to talk. Firing Pelinka and hiring a capable GM would come a long way to reduce the harm.

Doing nothing is not the same as saying nothing.

She absolutely has to say something actually. Staying silent would be bad, and doing nothing would be the absolute worst thing she can do.

Unfortunately, she'll stay silent and do nothing...because that's what she's been doing for years

Actions speak louder than words. Her actions leave little desire for hope.

    - Hired a snake
    - Hired a part timer in a full time role (knowingly)
    - Allowing moves by someone who has failed up
    - Stating she wants to hire the best but gets cheap or doesn’t want anyone outside her circle

She doesn’t have to say one word. Just make sound decisions.

I can't really argue against any of this. Jeannie needs to step up to the plate but not sure she has placed the right folks in her corner to ultimately succeed. We'll see. I don't mind the snake if he does his job well, secures a top free agent this summer and puts together a roster that can actually contend.

I am gonna have to disagree on this. Firing Pelinka just validates Earvin Johnson. It's all on Lebron now to recruit and assure FA's that all is good. Business as usual except now we have a better pitch man than Earvin Johnson....Lebron James.

I think it can be justified that he be fired based on his moves so far, letting Lopez walk, signing Rondo, Beasley, and to a lesser extent Lance, trading Zu for nothing. He hasn’t yet shown that he knows how to build a roster, this summer is his big test. If he fails again, and I’m not even talking landing a star, I’m talking putting good pieces around LeBron even if we don’t land a star, or trading for a star, then he absolutely deserves to be fired.

I thought those moves were on Magic? with his "can't out goldenstate" stuff and didn't he acknowledge that those moves were his during yesterdays interview?

Well, Rob signed off on them and praised them. Rob was always complaining about Magic not being in the office enough, and Magic admitted he wasn’t on First Take yesterday as well, so I’m going to assume those moves were as much Rob’s as Magic’s. Some I’ll assume were even more Rob than Magic if he truly wasn’t around that much, and based off of seeing what a bad negotiator he has been in this coaching search, both Rondo and Lance got more than their market value. Only the McGee signing I would say was a great one, and the Bullock trade was very solid, but it was also to cover up for mistakes made in the first place.

so if your Boss told you to do something and you can't question it and it turns out to be a s***ty decision, you're ok to take the blame once the boss is gone?

Hey, Rob was GM, he made the moves. If he didn’t agree with the moves he could have gone to Jeanie and said so if recent reporting is to be believed. Magic AND Rob had to agree to those moves, and I assume maybe even get Jeanie’s approval on some. So they both get credit and both get blame. Go back and watch the initial presser about this season’s signings with Magic and Rob, they both sound incredibly dumb, Magic with his anti-Warriors stuff, and Rob with his “thrust”.
