Jeannie IDGAF attitude here is fascinating, she is impressively competent in the business side of things, she stays out of the basketball decisions and leaves it to Rob and Magic before the latter quit. Now she is being slandered all over as incompetent in running the basketball side of things lol. Every night the Lakers are in every sports show as a talking point, Jeannie never gave any public statements letting things marinate. Meanwhile the Laker brand consistently is still one of the best selling merchandise in all sports while missing the playoffs six straight years.

That is really not that surprising. Most of the casual fans do not know all of what we know, especially non-US ones.

They know that we have LeBron. They know we have cap space, possibly. So they buy the merch.

    That's about it.

We, my friend, live in a bubble.

yea, that tells you how powerful our brand is... and it really buffers things, especially during such dark times... financials look good, and that's all that really matters to the FO...

He’s Extended our pain by making the front office falsely think that they are doing ok.

    They aren’t.

Just yet another downside of having a Lebron on the team.

That's actually a pretty good analogy. I'm disappointed that I didn't think of it myself. I'm usually the analogy guy around here.

He has a point though. The Lakers needed somebody that was box office, and they got it. Even if we have a crap record, signing him was a win in their eyes from a revenue generation standpoint alone.

Correct: Always trade for game changing star player when they are available

Incorrect: Mehh we can just wait until next season when he will walk to us for nothing

San Antonio would have traded Kawhi for Peanut M&M's than send him to the Lakers for their entire team. Lakers has zero shot at getting him.

You don’t have to limit it just our team. The whole approach of viewing certain guys as untouchable is flawed and as shown in that tweet, outright laughable at times.

That post is going over your guys’ heads. It was a general statement not a specific one. There’s always been debate about superstars wanting to come here if we should give up the goods or just wait. Paul George and Kawhi (So far) has shown a lot changes in one year.

My opinion is to trade for these guys, no matter what the cost because of what just happened tonight. That trumps waiting on potential, growth, etc. You can do that any time, just tank for a couple seasons and you can have a whole army of young guys (see recent Lakers teams). Give me the NBA Finals runs win or lose.

Well, the Lakers tried to do that with AD, and it blew up in their face. Maybe fans have become so unreasonable, we have gotten to the point that no matter what is done, their is going to be a complaint.

    So, let's run a timeline....

Lakers are rumored to want to offer the Pacers a deal for Paul George, however, tampering allegations somewhat derail it AND the Lakers take a chance on getting George for nothing that summer. FAIL

Lakers are told by crater face it it would have to be a Godfather deal or whatever, reality is Popa(bleep) would have NEVER traded Kawhi to LA. FAIL.

Lakers try and trade the entire team for AD. Fail.

So which one is it America? I don't put too much stock in the media, which most of you are controlled like a freakin drum by, because their business is to criticize ANYTHING and everything you do no matter if you win or lose.

Moral of the story is, the Lakers have to have THE PLAYER decide if they want to play here and that player needs to have no restrictions. A la Lebron last year.

Anything else, the league, these scumbag execs and coaches will rather drink their own urine than send anything to the Lakers.
