OK, finished licking my wounds from 2018-2019 .... Still optimistic about the best two young players in the league BI and Zo (They are 21!). If they can stay healthy and resist the urge to trade them, they are the new Shaq Kobe for the next 10 yrs. Rejuvinated LeBron with these two and you just need to build around them. If we can't add Kahwi in free agency I'd be ok with just adding solid shooters and more importantly defensive minded players. Don't over-complicate this... the stew is already cooking.

I bet Bron gains about 35 lbs this offseason and is just a shell of his former self. Happily takes his 40 mil, says he's saving himself for the playoffs, continues stat hunting, avoid defense like the plague, and blaming everyone else for his shortcomings as a leader.

This is going to be so great.

Lebron: "Plz get me some help."

there is just a false narrative on Lebron will be rejuvenated at the age of 34-35 with his mileage. Ain't going to happen. You've seen the best he will ever be as a Laker, and we'll be lucky if he is able to play more games per year than he did this year. It's common sense. We all want him to be the exception to the rule, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. And he's my favorite player.

I actually think he will be better next year than this year. First time since like his 2nd year in the league he’s had a summer off, I think the rest will do him good. If we can land a 2nd max guy that helps a ton too, LeBron had no true 2nd guy to play with last season, Ingram didn’t start putting up all-star numbers until after the all-star break yet again. So yeah, if we get a 2nd (or even 2nd and 3rd star), and get a couple legit shooters I think LeBron will look better and more interested next season.

while I hope you are right, I'm also considering if you are smoking some good stuff. I don't see his game aging as well as Kobe's if he refuses to develop a post game. In one more year, he's not blowing by anybody. And a 3 from the logo isn't a good percentage shot.

I forgot to say I think the year after next is when I think his game falls off. So while I’m being optimistic, I’m only thinking he has one great year left in him, which is why this offseason is so important. Also, while smoking is legal where I live now, it doesn’t agree with me at all, so I don’t touch the stuff.

Hopefully LeBron adjusts his game, I think dragging the Cavs to the finals influenced his style of play to his and the Lakers detriment this past year. A Perimeter LeBron centric team with him as the primary point facilitator gets nowhere. We need LeBron the finisher, operating from the post and wings with team ball movement. The ball is still going to be in his hands quite a bit, just not 25’-30’ from the hoop.

    Ummm.....

    - Lebron
    - Young core
    - # 4 pick
    - Max slot

Great start to head into the draft and offseason. And then there is the front off....

Optimism thread they don’t belong here.

I still lay it on our scouts to take the best player available, don't want to have the Lonzo Ball fiasco again with World beaters drafted after him...

Keep or trade, just don’t screw it up. This could be the turning point.

I agree. We need to be smart here. Trading with the Pelicans is a real possibility now. But I feel optimistic again.

We have the best package for AD. IT all boils down to the Pelican's pettiness. If they want to cut off their nose to spite their face, not much we can do. Darius Garland is a really nice player and could end up being the 2nd best player in the draft. He's also more of a shoot first pg which would fit nicely next to Lonzo. If we can't trade for AD, and we can't sign anyone in the offseason, a Garland/Lonzo/Ingram/Kuz core could still end up being a contender in 5 years.
