The last time we brought in a coach to cater to the point guard position....well let's just say hide your kidds, cause they shredding everybody's Achilles out here...and I'm looking at you, Bron.

Giannis will tell anyone who will listen that JKidd helped him a ton. That's not a good enough reason the hire him as a HC though. Bring in Messina, convince him to hire JKidd as an assistant, and then hope that Messina can bring a couple of Spurs assistants with him and bright young mind from the FO. And promote Ryan West before he leaves for the Clippers.

I believe with the Lue debacle, you gotta make sure you don't mess up with Bron again. This JKidd thing appears to be real and let's say Bron (and Ky) give it the okay, then if you bring in Vogel or Thibs as the main defensive assistant, I'm not totally against that at all.

I think coaching is important, but if you can add any combo of Ky/Kawhi to Bron while keeping the kids, then who really cares if it's Kidd.

Kidd coming without any 2nd max guy or trading for AD would be the doomsday scenario. But Kidd with a defensive stalwart as head assistant commandeering a team of Bron with any combo of Ky/Kawhi/AD/kids gets a green light from me. (Disclaimer: I got zero expertise in coaching and X&Os)

Haynes thinks Kidd is the best among all of the current candidates.

Of those, Blatt has ZERO chance of being here after him being run out of Cleveland by Lebron. I like Messina and Howard. I know nothing about Silas or Griffin.

^^^And TyLue was rumored to be willing to make him his head assistant if it was a 5yr deal. Wild!

I'm going to take Pete's x&o acumen on this, but IF we got a defensive head assistant like Thibs/Vogel/VanGundy and IF we got a top tier guy to join Bron, then my sXmpletOn brain would actually be okay with a Kidd hire.

Btw: Luke with his case and now our supposed affinity for another dirt bag abusing women...it's bizarre why a franchise with female owners (shadow or otherwise) are willing to let this happen.

I just dont think Kidd is a very good Xs and Os coach. Predictable iso heavy old school offense, stupid defensive concepts, not a great communicator per reports. Byron Scott 2.0 as a HC.

People know that he’s a crap coach as well as a s*** human being, as outlined by LFR in earlier tweets here.

    Calling it now

Me right now: By all accounts Kidd is a trash person and incompetent coach and we’d be a joke to hire him.

Me in a week: Coaching isn’t really that important and the media was just hating in the first place. I’m okay with this Kidd hire.

This franchise is giving me Stockholm Syndrome

Yeah, I'm not ok with Kidd and there's no way he's the best head coach option out there by a long shot. I don't want the spousal abusing knucklehead at the helm. He's just not a good coach. J. Kidd over Ty Lue when Lebron is on your team? That's idiocy. Why aren't they talking at all to Stan Van Gundy, by the way?

So we're interviewing Bickerstaff former Grizzlies coach, I think we're just throwing the fishing rod into the pond to see what we can catch now.

I know this is old, but I can’t get over how the Lakers handling this. Rather than moving on I’d go back, apologize to Lue, offer him the 5 years, and not dictate his staff. But no, they want Rambis on the staff as a FO spy, apparently so LeBron doesn’t gain too much power? Chauncey tells no lies here, just a total joke. If we end up with Vogel it’s going to be so meh, but if we end up with Kidd with Kurt as lead assistant, I’m gonna lose faith in humanity.

Kidd is well-liked by Jeanie and Pelinka. Kurt is pushing for Hollins, but he used Kidd (who also had Magic's strong support) as a reason to get Pelinka to offer a 3 year deal to Lue. Now that Lue has backed out, Kurt has suddenly withdrawn all support for Kidd. But because he was so high on him earlier, he's being legitimately considered.

Can we please bring an adult into the room? Bring Rick Adelman out of retirement. He's a year older than Popovich, and next to Pop, he was the most respected head coach in the league when PJ bowed out. Kobe (and a ton of us fans) wanted him and got Mike brown instead. Phil Jackson said Adelman gave him his toughest coaching challenges. An excellent Xs and Os and personnel guy. Yeah, I'd love to have Rick bring some maturity, class and respect back to this franchise. And the man can coach his tail off.

The interview schedule is being leaked by some Lakers FO people to try to signal to Lue that we have other options and he should reconsider the 3 year deal. From what I recently heard, Lue doesn't care and is not taking the 3 year.
