Klay isn’t a superstar max player like LeBron, KD, AD, Kahwi, Steph, and Giannis but he is still a all-nba level max player the way Paul George, Jimmy Butler, Kemba, Oladipo are. I can even make the argument Kyrie is closer to this level.

Whoever is worried about Klay’s mileage should check how many games he actually misses. He is very durable and only missed games because coach chose to rest him.

He would be perfect for this team and if we just added him, it would be a huge success. Think about what he could do for this team’s spacing and he doesn’t need 30 shots a game to be effective. You would be able to have Lonzo and Klay just play off the flow of the offense.

the argument on durability has more to do with cumulative mileage eventually coming due. Ala Lebron. Ala Kobe. Eventually everyone slows down. Guys like Michael Finley that played super high minutes crashed much sooner. Only so many miles an nba body can take, and it's not like Klay is built like Karl Malone either.

Klays game isn’t predicated in athleticism. He literally is about as athletic as Derek Fisher.

I think if he just takes care of his body he could have a Ray Allen type career where he’s a effective 3rd option and constant 3 point threat until he’s 35-36 years old

Agree, but I’m not paying the max for that.

the question with klay is whether he disappears for long stretches because he can or because he's inconsistent. we've never seen him have to carry a real star's load offensively...maybe we'd see more consistency if he did, like reggie miller.

If those 3 quarter 50 pt explosions are not enough then I don't know what will convince most of you. I hope GS eff's up and we swoop in.

It a little late but I just have to post this on the heals of the reports that Lebron no longer trusts the Lakers after the Magic resignation.

Uh yeah judging by how things are going right now in terms of the perception of the Lakers...we'd be LUCKY to get Klay Thompson.

And yes, I take him and give him the FULL max and don't think TWICE about it. his game does not rely on athleticism and he's still an elite defender. He's literally the perfect fit for this roster and him being the 2nd option would be perfect for guys like Kuzma, Ingram and Zo to be complementary guys

I believe. I've been on the Kyrie thing for a bit now. Boston is going to lose Kyrie, be stuck with that Hayward contract, and have no real reason to unload assets for an AD rental. I think things are looking up. I'll be the optimist here.
