Lakers hire Ty Lue, Lakers will be worse next year. It would be the Lebron show again and the Lebron show won't freakin work with this team.

It's going to be the LeBron show whoever's coaching. Their job is to make it work. Year two and he's doing it his way.

I don't get why everyone is so down on this team. If we simply strike out and keep everyone plus shooters and players that can hit free throws, alone we were trending to being 3-4th in the loaded West. Injuries is what derailed this team. But I have some confidence in Klutch and LeBron bringing in another Star

Not sure they'll be worse. As long as Lebron doesn't miss a significant stretch and Ingram and Lonzo stay healthy for most of the season, we probably end up around 48-52 wins. Can they possibly be any better than that? No. And that's the demoralizing part. We have Lebron James and the best we can hope for is a 4-5 seed and POSSIBLY a second round playoff series.

I firmly believe that organizational excellence is necessary to succeed in any sports. It's not so much which players you have but what your culture is and how people perform in your habitat. Once your culture is in place, you can try to add talent.

    Looking for example at Clippers...

They used to have IMMENSE talent with Darius Miles, Lamar Odom, Corey Maggette, Elton Brand, Shawn Livingston, Andre Miller etc...and they were PURE GARBAGE with Donald Sterling and his crew.

Now they have traded away all their good players and have a bunch of rotation players, yet are extremely competitive because Ballmer, Doc, West etc. have stabilized the organization and given it a desirable culture.

The Lakers stink from the top. We are pure chaos and I personally think they will NEVER succeed before they clean the house.

Sadly it's not looking like it will change anytime soon. Guys like James Dolan or Donald Sterling have proven that it is possible to suck for 20 years. I refuse to believe that the Lakers will get there...but 6 years and counting...denial all over the place.

Honestly I have been complaining for weeks now and right now I do see the light at the end of the tunnel...unfortunately its a train.

If the health is better, we are going to be better too. And you know what sad, Savory? I'd actually like that 4-5 seed after all these years of suffering. That's where I am right now. Gimme that 4th seed. That's right.

We can't go back to the old Lakers, not because of LeBron or the coach (although that does play a role, obviously), or even who we get this summer. It's the ownership and the management that needs to change.

yeah, i'm legitimately concerned we're in like stage 2 of 4 in becoming the knicks west. unfortunately, cautionary tales about poor ownership generally aren't impactful to owners...

i'll put on the optimist hat (it's very small and has a propeller): 52 wins was about good enough for home court in round 1 and was like, three games off the pace for best record in the west. only houston and gs weren't beatable by our healthy squad, and i think gs is finished this year and houston will follow quickly (no way paul holds up for another year plus playoffs--they better win this year and i think they know it).

utah and portland are meh playoff teams. denver's a 7-9 seed pretending to be a contender. the west doesn't look to be very strong to me going forward. in fact, if the lakers just nabbed a second allstar and kept everyone, i'd be expecting a top 3 seed, quite honestly.

i'm also guessing that the non-star signings can't possibly be worse than what we did last summer.

*knocks on wood, takes hat off, but not before flicking propeller triumphantly*

I don't trust Cowherd but starting around 6.30 he is talking about us. A big note was that they have a POB who is still currently in the playoffs but involved in all this. I wonder how much legs this has ...

I'm mostly annoyed that the Clippers and Lakers have switched their roles/reputation in LA.

    Say what?

You could begin to consider that true once the Clips win their first Championship (never going to happen).

I don’t know TIME, I’ve been as skeptical as you on this my entire life, but perception really seems to be shifting

These are not the Donald Sterling Clippers.

while they'll probably never win a chip, the reputation hit and general success over the past 7-8yrs, I'd say the general sentiment around the league views it that way IMO. We're pretty much the laughing stock of the league even with James on board

Media keeps pushing that but I don’t see it among actual fans.

Also I don’t think players will forget how they did Blake Griffin.
