What should I do with my newfound 100 dollars a season? Perhaps buy myself a new pillow I will be using so much more now.

There is minimal chance Bob Myers leaves his cushy job. He’s got a dynasty in the works that looks nowhere near being done. He wouldn’t leave in the middle of their reign.

Buford doesn’t strike me as a guy who’s interested in LA. He’s been with the Spurs for over 30 years, has a great relationship with Pop and is part of the Spurs ownership group (along with Pop, who is also Team President). That’s a tight-knit circle of trust. I don’t see those guys leaving.

Sam Presti isn’t getting any kind of results in OKC that make me giddy. I still think he got robbed on the James Harden trade. He’s not great at selecting coaches, and he has no semblance of a vision for an offensive system, evidenced by the last 10 years. Presti’s got an eye for drafting talent but as a front office guy? He extended his shelf life by Westbrook/PG resigning but OKC just went down 0-2, arguably to a team with less talent.

The bolded part might not be true at all, these guys are often up for a challenge. It doesn't matter though, our owner is rolling with the

His challenge is to have a ball next year in the brand spanking new arena and win a ring there with an organization he loves. Him and Buford and Presti are all PIPE why do we keep talking about them.

I’m not sure the Meyers part is true. The Warriors run is about to end, it might even be ended by Houston THIS playoffs. If not, KD is still walking, Cousins is gone, Draymond wants max money, Klay wants max money, I don’t see what’s left to do there. In LA he’d have a chance to make the Lakers great again right after being a huge part of one of the greatest dynasties ever. If he brought the Lakers back too, he’d be like the Theo Epstein of the NBA, I see a lot of appeal in that.

^all while netting nearly $16m a year (Stein's guess) and returning LA to contention. s***, they might get a statue out of the deal if we get a trophy on their watch. It's definitely not happening, Rob handling the coaching search has made that abundantly clear. But it should have happened. You miss every shot you don't take.

Best case scenario for us at this point is West and Jr heading things and that's a stretch given how he left. Opportunities for Jr has to outweigh pride and dislike for Phil and Jeanie.

Myers had a chance to s*** down rumors and didn’t which was telling to me.

The media isn’t pulling names out of thin air. Their people are mKing it well known they would be interested.

We’re just going ahead and with the same nonsense we always do.

Gotta hope LeBron and Klutch have enough pull to bring in major guys.

Too good to be true. But West, Buford, Myers, Presti, and Ujiri are all still in the playoffs.

Like we need any help from one of those guys, we have Kurt and Linda Rambis at the helm. Have you seen their selection process when choosing a place for brunch, amazing.

That's fair. We'll have to see how their FA plays out. They can just let KD and Cousins walk and give max money to Klay and Draymond, though, can't they? The core of Curry-Klay-Green with the right players around them can still be a contender IMO. That core beat the Cavs in 2015 for a ring, I wouldn't say their run is done but it'll take some work to get the right pieces around them (i.e. they need replacements for Iggy and Bogut). That might be a challenge that interests Bob Myers.

to me, the issue is that curry tends to get banged up. that and the league has a blueprint for beating that team now, thanks to houston. basically just go super small and muck up the pace with a junky offense on the other end. durant is the wildcard there, and without him, houston would have already beaten them a couple times, imo.

but yeah, curry/thompson/green and some cap wiggle room to refresh the reserves might help. another undersold element of the warriors' decline into beatability is that they haven't been able to groom the next generation of role players, and their guys are either rapidly aging out (iggy and livingston) or have already aged out (bogut). looney, bell, mccaw, cook...none of them has really stepped into a consistent role that has allowed gs to feel comfortable.

i think they're losing in the second round, durant's leaving, klay's getting maxed, and there's going to be some serious weirdness with green (i could see a trade if they can find a sucker).

Houston beats GS last season without Durant, probably even without Chris Paul. Durant saved them (as well as Houston missing like 27 threes) when the games got tight. So yes, Curry, Klay and Green still make them a top team, but Durant leaving imo makes the West more open than it’s been in years, for reasons abeer covered perfectly. The league has kind of caught up to their style or play, Durant is the ace that saved them, otherwise I don’t know if they’d have won again after choking to Cleveland.

100% on point abeer. I remember the Lakers at this impasse during our championship runs. It took us 5 years and a young Kobe to re-hash our success in 2009. Then after 2011, Mitch and Jim were unable to bring the right guys around Kobe after the CP3 nix and Pau's sudden decline. This happening leaves the West just vulnerable enough for us to sneak back in.

right. how many teams go to five consecutive finals? how many win 4 titles in 5 years or 3 in a row? it's just a lot, no matter how stacked you are. it's why i didn't think that "waiting out gs" was a sensible strategy. they can't continue forever.

btw, the answers to the questions above from the modern era are 1. nobody, 2. nobody, 3. kobe/shaq lakers and jordan bulls. gs would do all of that this year if they won it. my money is on them being out next round, if only "cuz statistical improbability".

1:22 is Cowherd saying that. Rumors on twitter saying it could be Arn Tellem, who is supposedly Rob’s friend, in which case my optimism would drop because he takes more power and also because Detroit sucks
