At least you get to watch the LA defenders play at staples. that's pretty unique!

IMO Vander Blue will forever remember his time as a Laker.

Front office did a great job picking him up in the 2nd round. I wish that Byron played him earlier in the season, but that's water under the bridge for now. JC received enough playing time to show what he can do for us going forward if he stays healthy.

He is deceptively athletic. Some of the moves he does are on Westbrook level.

I think he's Jordan's scoring, Magic's passing, and Gary Payton's defense. Probably will put up Oscar Robertson numbers as early as next year. We should probably hold on to Wes Johnson and Sacre. Play them heavy minutes too just to make the seasons interesting, and to give the other teams hope.

Not the official vote, these were votes casted by HoopsHype readers....

ROY - Wiggins (62% of votes)
Runner up - Mirotic (21.8% of votes)
    3rd place - Noel (4.6% of votes)
    4th place - Clarkson (2.7% of votes)
    Others - 8.9% of votes

Take out Mirotic who was drafted in 2011 and Noel drafted in 2013, Mitch and Co. snagged arguably the 2nd best player in the draft for the season at #46.

I think we got a preview of his peak this month. 19/7/5. I'm sure some will say his ceiling is much higher, but older rookie PG's usually peak very fast. & those are very good numbers to get out of your starting PG. Can't wait to see him do it over an entire season.

We shouldn't expect much more than that, for sure.

I don't want to be too ridiculous, but over the last five seasons, only 8 guys have averaged 19-6-4 on 47% shooting. LeBron x5, Steph Curry x2, CP3 x1

If Randle turns out to be an 18/9 pf and we somehow steal Durant, we would only need Clarkson to chip in 14/5/3 or so. The main thing Clarkson has done is made it conceivable that we have a pg who can start on a championship team. Now he may not end up that way, but he has shown enough that we can at least pencil him in as our point guard for the foreseeable future as opposed to going into this offseason with a glaring need at pg. Nice to have pg and pf checked off. Now with a little luck, hopefully we can check off center in this year's draft. Pick up Middleton and check off sf or sg as well.

No to Rondo... Now that's out of the way, Clarkson is quoted to be following the Clipper playoff series to watch how Chris Paul plays and use him as an example. Paul does show good floor generalship but...I hope he does not pick up bad tendencies like whining, pouting and flopping. Unfortunate that Westbrook and the Thunder are not in. He would make a better case study.

Refreshing to see that Clarkson is working on his game at least from a mental and film standpoint as opposed to lounging somewhere in Maui like another backcourt player we currently have.

He won't pick up any of Paul's bad habits. He's fearless and doesn't resort to whining, complaining, or flopping. Example: the two Clippers games; they blitzed him on every pick in roll and he didn't know how to properly read those defensive coverages. He took responsibility for it, came back two days later, and had a solid outing; no pouting, whining, or flopping. He saw the tape, improved and came out at attacked that game.

Everytime I watched him get off to a bad start, make a bad decision, turn the ball over too many times, he either corrected it or acknowledged it in the post game interviews as something he needed to work on even after a good game he had; even after slow starts, he'll continue to fight through those games, keep being aggressive until the end of the game. He just has 'it'. He'll never fall in the mold of Chris Paul's negative antics. He's just cut from a different cloth.

I think it needs to be said. A guy like Clarkson this year who wanted it so bad and tried so hard to make Byron proud of him and get as good as he possibly could, as quickly as possible, played pedal to the metal a lot of the time heading toward the rim. I'm sure others have seen him land at odd angles at times on one leg and tumble to the floor. Yeah it's great but it scares the crap out of me too. Think Shaun Livingston, think Derrick Rose, think any of these high speed guys way off the floor in amongst the "trees". Hopefully ..... he gets his legs really strong in the weight room, and with a little more peace of mind due to what he was able to show the whole league this year in him "belonging" in the league ...... that he can maybe reduce somewhat the more reckless types of those plays.

I mean if therealdeal can have a little bit of angst watching Karl Anthony Towns moving around out there in traffic, probably can be similar pause for thought here too with Jordan simply because like Westbrook to some degree and Kobe his whole career ..... he plays really HARD.
