I dont give one F about Magic reason for QUITTING, he can go suck a fat one. I wanted him out but the way he did was pretty much "me, me, me" BS, such a fake a**. Seeing that tunnel interview with Rachel Nicol infuriated me even more, all this guy talked bout was himself and how much he go back to tweeting nonsense and being HAPPY! So obviously he never took the job with the intention to do it for the TEAM, he did it for his own ego and it blew up in his fake a** smiling face.

Well if Magic really wanted Rob and Luke gone, and Jeanie said no...we are seriously f***ED.

Magic was not wrong to want to clean house...I guess the quesiton is who would you rather have? Magic or Luke/Rob?

I'd rather have Magic because at least he is well liked around the league. Rob is HATED by other GM's and Agents. Luke? Remains to be seen

“If anything his power will grow.”

Yea let the guy who thought surrounding Lebron with non-shooters and constructing one of the worst teams with Lebron on it ever have more power.

Makes total sense. Let the known back stabbing snake in NBA circles, have a larger part of the pie going forward.

What an embarrassment. Someone rethink this s*** and make a change.

All this news is why I felt like it was premature to celebrate Magic being gone.

Pelinka and the Rambis family running things could easily be worse. No Magic to smooth it over with guys who hate Rob.

Jeannie just isn’t a good leader. Period.

Doesn't condone it certainly but maybe the bad mouthing on Magic was just conversation supposed to be off the record of what it was like to work with "part time" not putting the work in Magic. Gotta think that would be frustrating. My vote certainly Pelinka gone if the whole league hates him. Griffin for Pres and R. West for GM under past GM Griffin. With J. West for consultation 24/7.

Guys, it's fully possible (and probably likely) that Magic, Rob, & Jeanie all suck at their jobs. Since we're stuck with Jeanie, I'd hope she stops this weak BS of just going to the same circle of close confidants to make this decision and actually acts like a leader and puts a ton of resources into a full-fledged search to bring in the very best basketball ops personnel possible.

Don't know why this has been so challenging up to this point. I know Magic & her are close like family, but when your President of Bball Ops can't be bothered to work hard and you've put a novice GM in place without the necessary robust experienced support staff, you aren't instilling much confidence in us Lakers fans.

I've had serious questions about Jeanie for a while. She seems like a pleasant enough human and well-liked, but if she doesn't have the cajones or intelligence for this gig, we're in serious trouble. This is her chance to make up for some serious missteps up to this point of the Lakers being "her show".

    Prove me wrong, Jeanie.

Yeah, now Magic is gone, there's no more blame guy protecting him and Jeanie. It's already happening, they are being painted as spineless for not even addressing the media (exit interviews) about our current situation. There needs to be stronger leadership.

I think running this organization as a family has not worked out at all. Having yes men like the Rambis family is detrimental to the team. There needs to be more outside people in higher positions of power. There won't be any of that emotional attachment to getting rid of people.

I've seen arm chair GM's run NBA2k GM mode a million times better than what Maginka and Jeanie have done

Well, the only bright spot, or even peek of light through the crack I’ve seen is Ramona on the Jump today said Rob is staying for now, but the world changed yesterday and it can change again tomorrow. There is the Jeanie quote that the Lakers are going to do this slow and methodically, and Ramona said she bets a lot of people are going to be interested to talk to Jeanie at the owners’ meeting in like NY next week. So there’s a glimmer of hope there, people are going to be after this job, and if they don’t rush, or they don’t put friggin Pelinka in charge of the search, this can still be salvaged.

I wonder if they are being too cheap about getting rid of Pelinka. According to Windhorst, he was given a 5 year 20 million dollar contract in 2017.

would've been nice to take that approach the 1st time around Jeanie...I have little to no faith that she will take that slow methodical approach, like her brother Jimmy she will fall for the next "salesman"

Heard Ramona briefly on the Mason and Ireland show. She clarified that Peinka getting more power wasn’t necessarily about him getting a promotion, just that Magic isn’t in the way now and Pelinka has to take on some of that responsibilities going into the offseason.

Again, what scares me is Rob sitting next to Jeanie and whispering in her ear trying to play puppetmaster. Jeanie puts too much faith in friends, this is a business, it’s an NBA franchise, it’s not a family restaurant. She doesn’t want to fire Luke because he was like Phil’s son, she doesn’t want to fire Rob because he’s Kobe’s guy, she has Linda Rambis in on these meetings because..? I’m sweating right now, Rob needs to go, not be in charge or righting this ship, and if he doesn’t go he needs to be put under someone very skilled at their job like those mentioned here, David Griffin for example.

^Assuming that David Griffin would be willing to allow Rob to serve under him. After Magic's comments, I doubt he'd want to.

I'm not even sweating at this point. I've simply given up. If Jeanie insists on running a multi-billion dollar corporation like a sandwich shop in rural Iowa, why should I continue to waste precious emotions on the Lakers?

Yeah, Magic is somehow saving face with the way he left us basically in the ****, Jeannie should just fire everyone and start from scratch.

i don't know if magic's presence was a smoothing one, externally. seems like teams didn't like him working in our front office, either.

The main problem I have with Rob is that other GM's around the league just don't want to work with him given the things that happen when Rob was an agent. That's why some of those GMs would call magic instead. Magic mentioned this in his interview on Tuesday.
