I think..I might actually blame Jeanie for this. Just because he’s a Laker legend and like your brother doesn’t mean he’s qualified. Magic looked miserable at that press conference, this job was not for him, he’s not that guy, he’s the Laker legend fun ambassador guy. I might even get why he didn’t fire Luke sooner now, he said he wanted no part of ending someone’s livelihood, he is just not that guy, should have looked to hire a real executive with experience. No more Laker family hires, Jeanie, even friggin Worthy and Fisher said this right now on Spectrum.
I blame Jeanie for everything and I've been saying it for years that the way she handled the Mitch/Jim thing was HORRIBLE...and this is her karma for it. Jim Buss and Mitch have BOTH remained quiet since that time...as much as I hate jim buss...he's not as emotional or trigger happy as Jeanie.
Magic owns several businesses, I mean firing incompetent people is part of owning a god damn business. Magic the GM = thanks for getting us LBJ, other than that, garbage. Magic the player/ambassador = We love you. People need to wake up and stop sugar coating things here.

Bingo. She was involved with the embarrassment that was Mitch/Jim and then now with something equally or worse for the franchise. I guess Windhorst said on the radio, that Jeanie used resources (money) to find out who was lying in the FO. Like come on, you are the owner, you should know this because you are there every day or at the very least involved. I’m sick of the half a** effort we are getting to appease former players or Laker family. We don’t deserve this. Get someone that cares and wants to put in the time to make things better.

That's not the way I read it. Now that Magic is gone, Rob has to go whether she wants him to or not. Magic's exit forced her hand. It's unlikely a new elite BB head will work with Rob. If Rob refuses to leave without receiving full pay, she may very well resort to legal maneuvers to do so. Magic chose to quit. Rob won't leave unless he's forced to.
