Can't blame Maj/Rob they have brought in the JV team and convinced LBJ to jump on the tank. They just need to sit McGee now who is playing out of his mind. Javelle is 19.2/14/3.8 blks the past 5 games on .717 shooting on around 30 mins per game  dude didn't get the memo

I don't blame Luke for trying to win as many as he can as an eff you to the FO before they fire him as the scapegoat for the season.

Luke should have tried to win as many as he can earlier in the season.

He has confused players with brain dead rotations and changing roles night in and night out.

Honestly our South Bay squad play winning basketball plays. We should have saved all the money on Lance, Rondo, Beasely, and even kcp and just used our G league squad as backups. They play harder and are actually talented. And used the money on Brook and kept Randle.

There's a lot of things we SHOULD have done. We SHOULD have had a starting 5 of Randle/Lebron/Ingram/Russell/Ball with Kuz and Hart off the bench. We should have a better medical staff since we have suffered season-ending injuries to half our team seemingly every season.

Uh no. We need to lose out. We're currently effing 12th (!!!) so we need to get back to 10th at least, and losing out will guarantee that.

Exactly. In order to trade it and get something nice back for it...we need it to be as high as possible.

Ideally, you get a top 3 pick and you trade that and one of the kids for AD...but the higher the pick, the more kids we'll need to attach

I doubt pelicans give a crap if the pick is 9-12, its all the same value to them, only way they view the pick as more value and therefore reduce their asking price is like you said a top 3 pick.

^generally I agree. Unless they absolutely fall in love with a guy in that range.

we will definitely lose all 4 remaining games so we will end up dead even with last year @ 35 Right now we pick 11th and the only team I see that can help us is Mini who are @ 34 wins. The T-Wolves have 2 games they could win (@Dallas & an @home vs Miami) and should only need one of those wins for us to advance our pick order they went 3-1 vs us this year and we pick before them in the event of tie record.

Charlotte (35 wins) could hurt us in a tie as we beat them both times this year but they have a few winnable games ahead (Pelicans, Cleveland, Detroit, Magic) unlike us who face far better teams than us . Nevertheless Charlotte could very well knock us down to 12th in the worst scenario, if they go winless or by the Gods we somehow win one. I know we had a knack of beating top teams earlier but let's be real. GSW, Clips, Utah, Portland vs our scrubs.

If Mini helps, they could give us as good as 10th and that is the only other good scenario I see reasonably possible. Otherwise we are 11th. or 12th due to Charlotte. With the following odds based on the new 2019 lotto:

I trust our draft scouts to make a great pick at 11....unless we have traded the pick or make a pick for someone else.

assuming the pick lands outside the top 10 i have no doubt magic will try to trade it

although i'm not sure if there will be many teams lining up for that pick given that this is looking like a very weak draft

I expect Magic to trade the pick unless it’s top 2, maybe even then. If it’s by some miracle #1 no way we pass on Zion, but beyond that this team is in no position to take on another 19-21 year old and “develop” him, we are in win-now mode with LeBron and we have 4 core kids already, plus Moe and Bonga, maybe even Caruso on a true NBA contract as a 3rd pg for emergencies off the bench.

If we get #1, Lebron's leverage and power over the front office is gone. We'd be all in on building a team that compliments Zion's age and skillset. Lebron would be welcome to come along for the ride, or he can ask to be traded to a team full of over-the-hill shooters.

I could see us trade down and take a couple upper class men with later picks (e.g., Clarke, one of the two Tennessee guys).

I would normally like this idea best if we could get 2 high 1st round picks for the pick as we pick well there but considering the current game plan and LBJ's window I think it's going to end up on the trade block. If that means we retain one of Ball, Kuz, BI in a AD deal though that's great.

Minnesota and Charlotte both won tonight. That’s a plus for our tank.

IMO in the NBA pick #1 is something else...then you might have a window between 2-5.

After the 5th pick...to me the success rate of a #6 and #14 aren't much different...

In other words...whether you end up with #10 or #12 has no impact on the type of player you historically draft. Not saying 10th isn't better...it IS. But history says it won't matter usually.
