Lakers need to learn from their mistakes. They seem to not learn regardless of management.

Now, how do you learn in the coaching search situation.....

You actually interview more than one freakin guy. Jim Buss hired Luke Walton 2 min after he interviewed him. That's a freakin moron running your business.

Lakers need to find the next stud coach. They not only need to find him but they need to convince that dip**** Lebron that if he doesnt respect him, he will never win a title here.

Lakers need to really focus on using Lebron and the morons who run his career to make sure AD lands here next year. Once that is done, Lebron's usefulness is confirmed. Other than that, Lebron does nothing. Simple as that.

Once AD comes here on his own free will, you have the #1 player in the league for at least 5 years of his prime. Then build from there. Little by little and stop trading your young(Zubac) OR good vet(Lou Williams) players for trash.

I'm sorry, I may be some arm chair jerk behind a computer, but is it that hard to do this? You guys tell me.

I agree. I am not going to lie and say I wasn't for the Luke hire. I thought it was a good hire at the time. And I'm still not convinced he's a bad coach. Hard to tell when he is given a terrible mix of players and they keep getting rid of his best ones. Let's be honest, Julius Randle was our best player for most of the season last year.

But other moves have been dumb. Most of us said they were dumb at the time. And they turned out to be dumb. If we sign Kawhi and trade for AD this summer, then I take back everything. But that's a TALL order.

It's fairly standard for assistant coaches to have a clause in their contract that they be allowed to interview with anyone as long as it is for a higher job. Do you think successful teams LIKE losing assistant coaches? But if a team denies their assistants interviews with other teams it would be a bad look for potential candidates who want to use that job as a proving ground to being a head coach BEFORE their boss decides to retire.

Hey come around more often. Do you ever volunteer for things? Looking at your Avi am wondering if you'd be interested in our open position of in house Lakers gif creation? ;) We used to have a genius here but he couldn't stand LeBron and ultimately that drove him away. Super talented with these .... miss that guy!

    Miss Zu too.

You know what's kinda funny, of all players that might make the Triangle most effective, it would probably be Lebron with his size and vision. The Triangle is actually fairly simple with spreading the floor and cuts. No unnecessary screens or complicated weaves, just playing the strong side and taking advantage of the mismatch in the post. Usually a double would come to the post which opens a cut or a wide open three, something we all know guys like Fisher, Horry, and Fox took advantage of, and even made shooters out of Ariza and Metta.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but Phil would probably be an excellent coach for this team.

Lebron is an all time great, he would make any offense better. Phil is the master of big ego management. That's Phil Jackson's major underrated talent.

Unfortunately Phil cant move across a living room without collapsing. Lakers need to find the next great coach or its rif raf until they do.

Agreed. When I speak on Messina and the Spurs I mean more from the sense of them laying down groundwork for him to be next in line after Pop. I'm not sure we can pry him away but he's certainly worth interviewing IMO.

Quinn Snyder is a boss. He is like Luke took drank a Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde coaching potion. He is a badass.

We pissed away Clifford, and Messina showed talent, so we naturally got rid of him and the got the likes of Mike Brown and Byron Scott.

That's a sad list. I do think juwan is a sharp guy, but that's a lue hire as well.
