kemba's not enough for me. we probably could have gotten a player of that caliber via trade had we not been hoarding space for two years. the space is to get max guys that weren't available to us in trade. that list is KD, kawhi, kyrie, and maybe klay thompson. one could even argue it's KD and kawhi only.
Those guys aren't coming; and sadly, my expectations are just getting back into the PO's. I know the "how" we get there is just as important, but I'm very tired of making tank threads in February; it's getting really old.
Poor you. You ever see the insides of one of those dirty, greasy and hot pieces of metal you assign us to?
I think at this point like... Kemba and Cousins would be a wildly successful offseason. Not literally, but by our FO’s standards.
Who would have thought a 23 year old could still improve. After hearing/reading recently that Magic wanted Randle gone pretty much from the day he got here, not at least trading him for something of value is infuriating, aside from the fact that we could have extended him for 12 mil per at the start of last season.
Ugly, oddball and even funny game the way Jules kicks his feet out at odd angles to balance the weird ways he has to go up down low short arms and all. But he just keeps doing it over and over and over to score on more puny bigs in the key.
Of course some of y'all will look at this as me hating on Jules again. I know how much I wanted to keep dude at the right price...so I'm comfortable with my critiques of him and how y'all view it. He didn't want to be here. Whether if it's him feeling slighted or his agent playing games, why would the FO keep a player here against their will? For the record, I would have done that and tried to get some assets via trade, but if Jules did agree to a QO, he effectively has a no-trade clause and can block any trade this season. Also, I'm not giving him a lucrative deal till our 2nd max guy is on the books. Sorry, but imo that's just smart book keeping. Jules is a beast offensively...there's no denying it. I think he'll still put up crazy numbers...but it's always going to come down to wins and losses. We were saying the same thing about DLo, but this year dude is actually having his numbers translate to the win column. Till Jules starts doing that, he will be viewed as an offensive bully, but a defensive liability.
facts don't help he cause when the intent is to s*** on your own people if they prove the opposite point sir
Multiple reports say he did want to be here, it was only after we didn’t extend his contract like he wanted, benched him and made it clear he wasn’t in our future that he wanted out. It was poor management of a #7 pick no matter how you look at it. I would say hopefully Magic and Rob learned from that, but then there’s the Zu trade, so...
Stats have always been useless. Stats in today's game are worthless. KAT is the poster boy of stats with no wins. Lakers will need AD to determine, ON HiS OWN, that he will be landing with the Lakers either this summer or next. Not his choice this summer, next year, his choice. Unless that happens, the Lakers moves will be for not and they essentially trade all their young guys to play in a dreadful time where the Lakers just cant get over the hump.
Well there was always that. He's too dumb to get it that keeping his hands at his sides cause they're heavy and staring at his cover while they make their move or shoot isn't very good defense. Freaking Julius Einstein.
Julius several times himself said he wants to be here. He said it'd be hard to turn down the Lakers if they made a competitive offer... I don't care about reports and conspiracy theories. The Lakers had no interest and Randle thought... He should ask them to rescind his rights before the FA market dries out because of salary caps.
Regardless of if he wanted to be here or not, for the price he signed for, we should have locked him up. His fit with this team would have been unquestioned... Unless you are our FO. The small ball lineup of Lonzo/Bullock/Ingram/Lebron/Randle would have been fun to watch. JaVale playing an efficient 15-20 minutes with Randle getting the rest would have been an ideal pairing. This offseason is the second chance to make everything right. I don’t have trust but I have optimism things will change.
