I think you mean “Good win”. Got a little worried there near the end but we were able to come up clutch. Great rotation by Luke to keep out Bron in a key stretch of the game in exchange for rookies and G-League players.

    I think they did.

It’s clear they were meddling in things by openly dangling Tatum.

I wish Jeanie would name people honestly. I was glad she spoke up a bit.

I know as of today the Lakers still only have a 6.2% chance of winning a top 4 pick (thanks tankathon.com)... it would still be a massive win if we just got into the top 4, and not necessarily #1 so we take Zion,

Imagine if we got either the #2 or #3 pick.... either one would be Ja Morant or RJ Barrett.

Either one would help our team tremendously even if we don’t do a Anthony Davis deal. I mean imagine if RJ Barrett, who’s game is perfect for today’s NBA slides right into the starting SG spot on a rookie contract and we still have Cap space for a max free agent too.

It’s entirely possible, Ainge is a piece of crap. Reports were the C Bags/Ainge told the Pels to wait until July and something like “then we’ll be willing to talk about everyone except Kyrie”. The thing with the C Bags though, is “everyone” doesn’t mean you get everyone, it means everyone is technically available, and you can try and pick. You may get Tatum, but you’re not getting Tatum AND Brown. If the Pels do deal with the C Bags in July they can be prepared to get hosed, because the only deals Ainge does are the ones he feels he wins.

I would LOL if we got a top 3-4 pick and suddenly we have a "treasure trove" of assets for Davis. If Irving leaves Boston, we would be in a solid position to acquire him.

If we get the #1 pick, would you trade it for AD?

I would definitely do it if we could sign a star FA. But Zion on the Lakers with Kuzma, Lonzo, and Ingram could be a very bright future.

I would trade the #1 for AD quicker than a heartbeat.

What's there to think about? We have a 34 old player who has 1 or max 2 years left of elite basketball.

Tired of losing. I'd give them #1 and either Ball or Kuzma or both.

No, but only because I think Zion's gonna bust harder than Bender :)

It depends who signs with us for me, they certainly would be getting Kuz + Ball + #1 after what they did at the deadline, that’s insanity.

Davis is a top 5 player in the NBA.

That means there are only 4 guys as good as him in the world.

I think you guys underestimate the immediate impact of such a signing.

I would also prefer to get Kawhi for free. Whenever you add talent without giving up anything you do it.

But that's yet another SF. We already can't effectively play Bron next to BI and Kuz. Adding Kawhi adds more pressure to diverse the talent into different positions.

You give me Kawhi and I trade for Davis... That's 3 of the 5 best players on the same team. Can't get better than that.

You want a top 5 player, you can't be stingy imo.

It's a short window that we have. If it comes to ONE championship, it's considered major success by any measure.

We weren't stingy when we offered everything and a kitchen sink. Now that offer is gone and im sure as hell NOT adding a #1 pick on top of it.
Plus, AD is not a top 5 player ;)... i'll give you top 7-8 though ;)

I’d shop the pick around. See what kinds of offers I could get around the league. I wouldn’t rule out Davis but I wouldn’t be in a rush to work with the Hornets either.

Zion is a potential superstar that a team can really sell to its fans. I think there would be league wide interest and we would have to explore that.

If we get the number one pick, I'd call Zion and tell him, "I hope you like cajun food!" AD is 25. He's only a three years older then Ingram...who we will be able to keep now that we have the #1 pick. Zion/Kuzma/Hart/2021 First rounder. That is a fantastic package. We then have a team of AD/Lebron/Ingram/Lonzo. Use the remaining cap space to sign Brook Lopez, Terrance Ross and Patrick Beverly. I don't think you need a third star with that team. Third stars tend to get marginalized anyway. It's probably better to have 2-3 solid role players to fill around 2 stars.

Zion is going to be great, but there is still a learning curve for any new NBA player. My only fear would be Davis turning into glass, and Zion blowing up AND being super durable.

But you have to go with proven seasoned talent in our situation

IMO this team is talented but can't shoot.

Without shooting it is almost not possible to win the championship these days unless you have a Shaq who just bulldozes teams.

It is absolutely imperativ to have better shooting. No defense in the world is good enough to beat a potent shooting team.

A team with Ingram, LeBron and Lonzo only works if you have two amazing shooters next to them.

It's also the main reason this team sucks. The FO ignored shooting and got what they deserve.

They listened to Lebron who wanted more playmakers, but we needed both.

I wouldn't give up #1 straight up, I would do what Chi/Minn did with the Butler trade, which was more of a pick swap...I'd add another 1st as well to go along with Zo, stuff.
