    This is what sucks for them though. There is literally nothing they COULD do. For the next 3 seasons you have two regressing players (who even in their prime put up empty stats) making up 2/3's of your cap. And for the next 2 seasons you have a middle of the road pg taking up another 18 million. There is not one attractive asset on that roster. And to make matters worse, the 3 above mentioned players are just good enough to win too many games to get a franchise altering pick.

    The front office is basically handcuffed for at least 3 seasons.

    Griffin will be what he is. Drummond never took that next step despite bein such a huge talent. Reggie Jackson just isnt good enough to be their lead guard and 3rd highest paid player. They will continue to be Eastern Conference average until they can do something with Griffin and Jackson.

    It seems like most teams see Lonzo as the symbol of ineptitude in the NBA.

    They measure how much their team sucks by how well Lonzo plays lol.

    this is what coaches as gms get you.

    i find it strange that over time, griffin has managed to improve in a lot of important ways, but his impact on winning games remains pretty minimal. drummond's also an interesting case in that he shows flashes of being one of the league's best centers, but doesn't sustain interest/energy. his physique concerns me, too. wonder if those things are related.

    jackson's their biggest problem, though. a market like detroit can't pay him to do what he does, imo. i mean, he's overpaid anywhere, but some places could get away with using him as an effective bench scorer at that price (sort of like schroeder in okc). they can't because he's essentially taking up a starter's slot.
