We are 11-7, we’re in the playoff picture, I will take it. Yeah, we’re winning ugly, and beating bad teams, but we have to beat these bad teams to be a good team again. We are taking care of business in that way even if the games are closer than they should be. Zo has had a couple very nice games in a row, BI finally had a really nice game overall, I’ll take that too. Like Ireland said, we have like 6 of 7 games coming up against teams .500 or worse, so this is a good time to grind out these ugly wins and learn to play better as a team. We have (and have had) a nice little stretch here where we have been allowed to struggle and still pull out wins, and I think that does help our confidence and help our young players get some confidence and get a taste for what winning feels like.

Winning without Rondo. I wasn't sure we could when he went down.

I like that we had wins in a close game against a bad team (Cleveland), and a slog of a game against a tricky team like the Jazz. They felt like very lose-able games. It's not pretty but upper-echelon teams pull out wins in these situations. I feel like we're getting there.

4 games above .500, and one game out of first place after our rocky start? Yeah, I'll take it!

The West is a mess, but we are getting it done, slowly but surely. I really love the toughness right now. Also, I am impressed with Bron’s 3pt shooting ability. That stepback is amazing and the clutchnes is on another level now. Not the FTs though. :LLLLLebronlaughing:

I expect a LOT of shuffling of playoff teams before the end of the year, but the West this year is HIGHLY surprising. Completely unexpected, what we are seeing.

Literally 6 of the 7 teams currently out of the West playoffs are capable of making the playoffs. I actually thought Phoenix had a shot this year, but apparently not.

That a lot of competition. It's only 20 games in, but dang!

    Optimism?!?

Yeah, as we rise and go up the team standing, so does our optimism. Top 4 sounds about right.

I think we'll be up against one of OKC, SAS and UTA for that spot.

The Lakers are slowly developing into what I believe Magic and Rob envisioned. The first and fourth quarters showed us samples of the potential, at different paces, that they can efficiently operate at. In the first quarter, the defensive intensity set off the showtime tempo while in the fourth quarter it was defensive stops and "WinnngTime" halfcourt sets. They are still mightly struggling with ball control (all season, not just the clunker last night) that prevents them from dominating over those stretches. Zo, BI, and KCP provide a formidable defensive perimeter with McGee and Tyson rim protecting. LeBron is reading the opposing offense and starting to provide timely take aways on ball reversals and strips at the rim... almost Pippenesque. The issue right now is they are giving away the advantage with careless ball security. Once they straighten this out they'll be more consistent and avoid these 4 quarter struggles. They are a weak 4 games above .500 evidenced by their scoring differential but I like the direction the needle is pointing in.

Completely new team still learning how to play together, and we’re 11-7? Yeah I’ll take it.

Pretty bad for the rest of the league if this is us with pretty much nothing together.

Lebron will get us 15 wins by himself (he may also lose us more, lol but...), once we start actually gelling and playing consistent defense, not even the Warriors will be a threat.

I dunno man .... time to embrace the being in every game and winning a lot more than we're going to lose. Dude (you know who) is in their ears too with Zo and BI reinforcing the things we all want to see from them. So clearly even your not favorite player lurks on LB.

I wish he would have lurked on ihatelebron.com before I deactivated it. He’d have learned a thing or two. Overall he has improved as far as being less offensive and cluelessly narcissistic.

The west will sort itself out over time and I think we'll be near the top of that pile
