I like it. I can't stand KCP any longer. The guy does nothing.

KCP is kind of stupid. Its his contract year.

He refused to sign that 80 mio. extention with Detroit, thinking he can make more. lol.

Now he will regret it bigtime. He won't get more than 8 mio. in the open market. He will likely then sign 1 year deals in order to produce one big year and find a desperate GM that throws him the bank. Chances are he won't succeed because he gets older and is then not considered a talented young player. His market value will come down.

We saved his butt by giving him $30 million these last two years. The way he looks now he'll be lucky to get $3-5 million anywhere next season. I wish he would prove me wrong and do something of note, but he appears to be in retirement mode right about now.

I think he's struggling to find his fit as much as anyone else. He's averaging the lowest minutes total of his career and on this team he's really just playing a "shooter" role which he's not terribly great at. His last season with us was his most successful shooting year, but he's a career 34% guy.

We've done him a tremendous favor and I think if he gets a 2/10 million dollar deal next summer, that puts him at about half of the extension he could have signed. It's far from ideal, but he's not the only player that misread that market and/or missed their window.

I don't know realdeal, he had the starting job and he lost it because he flat out sucked. There's absolutely nothing wrong with him physically and he's still well within his prime age wise. He knew that his guy Lebron was coming and he's just looked flat out horrible. I feel like he's checked out and I said so in preseason. He looks like he's just given up.

    Speaking of misreading the market...

So let me get this right...Mintz/Jules wanted out of LA because they wanted a long-term commitment (got a psuedo 1yr deal with NOP instead)...

They wanted to get paid by wearing that "pay me" shirt last year (got less money in NOP over 2 yrs than he coulda had here on a blimped 1yr capholder deal instead... Oh btw, they requested we renounce his bird rights at a 12.4m QO to sign for 8.8m this year in NOP w/o any bird rights to show for next summer instead)...

They wanted a different role seeing how Bron came on board (then go to a team with AD/Niko on the frontline and ignore the possibility of playing with Bron in the starting lineup as a small ball 5 instead)...

Go figure that they were aiming for that 6th man spot all along...

    Well played, Jules/Mintz...

    And well played, Rob/Magic.

They aren't in the business of slighting players and agents. The focus should be on making the team better.

As I've been saying, it's a loss for both sides.

The Pelicans got a helluva player in Julius. Congrats to them.

Sent one of his clients to the robust market of Brooklyn (who btw did not extend said client, aiming instead to maximize cap flexibility for a max player double dip). So why are we expected to ditch big game hunting to extend him or his other client, considering they both were inherited and weren't even the current FO's picks?

Took a $500k fine for his other client and never made him or his representation look bad during the process...even after said representation pushed the "hellbent on LA" narrative and didn't imply or communicate via back-channels that we didn't have to shed more salary for 2 max players and in the process spare Nance/JC.

Granted his other client unrestricted free agency to pick any team of his choice after renouncing his qualifying offer. We didn't have to do that (see McCaw/Dubs).

And yet you think we slighted dude and his clients? If anything we needed to get him the f*** out of dodge, cause clearly he's not about conducting good business (see wanting to get Jules a long-term deal and help him secure that bag, yet lost him his bird rights when teams clearly had money to spend this summer but on the second day of the moratorium, he decides to commit to a de facto 8.6m 1yr deal.

Sure, Mintz is an idiot. I can agree to that.

However, regarding the Julius situation, you are preaching a narrative that the onus is 100% on Julius/Mintz. I don't agree to that.

The mishandling of Julius started way before the offseason by our FO and coaching staff. Not to mention we lost him for NOTHING.

The writing was on the wall, and both parties are at fault.

    This so much.

I really believe the fact he felt unappreciated and unwanted was a huge factor for Julius wanting to leave.

I really think we need to move past Julius Randle now. It's not doing anyone any good to either cry over spilt milk or to cast blame on him and his agent. It's been done for a long time now folks. That was the summer.

I definitely wanted him here, but it's over and whatever happens to him he's an NBA discussion guy now. I am thrilled about Chandler being here though. Let's focus on the current team, now, shall we?

More competition for Boston, I like it. As long as it wasn’t Houston I was gonna be pretty happy though.
