I believe Westbrook has two years left on his OKC deal. So that scenario may happen but not until 2017. I'd be happy with it, I think Love needs to be more involved to keep his motor running. With the Lakers he'd be the main go to until Westbrook comes aboard. Then they got a dynamic pair of go to guys.

The unsubstantiated rumor goes Love leaves this summer and Westbrook in 2017. I don't think i would mind love, but I am not a fan of Westbrook, i don't watch like i used to but he was very much a bad decision making chucker...

He plays almost always out of control, but his decision making is better now than it was. He's leading his team competently and with fervor.

His out of control nature scares me from an injury perspective. I love Westbrook, but man, he just seems like an ACL waiting to happen.

He is. His knees will disintegrate sooner than they're supposed to.

Yep. It may not matter. He has two more seasons before he hits free agency. The chances of him getting hurt badly between now and then I feel are pretty darn high.

He's definitely got incredible drive though. He's already had a few knee injuries, but he's managed to come back and still play the same way. it's impressive and also should make people really nervous.

I think he's got probably 4-5 years left of great basketball... Maybe two years after that he's got decent ball left... I just can't imagine his knees taking much more than that.

Max deal and Rondo should not mix.

ANY deal for Rondo does not mix. If he wanted 3 million I wouldn't sign him. Horrible team guy. Doesn't get along with coaches. His body is already starting to fail. If we sign him, I may not watch the Lakers until he is gone. No joke. He is the perfect player to sign if we want to ensure dysfunction and mediocrity for 5 more years.

Honestly. Clarkson is a better player than Rondo right now. We can probably get Khris Middleton for less than what we'd give Rondo. A player who is 6 yrs younger, better and in a position of need. Signing him feels like something the Lakers would do to make them look like they have their mojo back, but in reality, it would set Clarkson's development back at least one season. It would lock up money on an aging pg who can't shoot. God...Max better be talking out of his a**.

Signing Rondo for any amount is taking several steps backwards. But I can see the FO signing him just because he's a big name and that will appease some people, the less logical but louder section of the fan base.

At the beginning of the season I was all over a max Rondo deal if he proved he could stay healthy. He hasn't and he hasn't looked that good. We could get a better player for this team for a max deal.

Can you imagine 40 million wrapped up in our backcourt next season and the two of them will likely play 75 games total between the two of them? But if they stay healthy, that puts Clarkson on the bench. I just can't believe that with the emergence of Clarkson that the team is stupid enough to sign that has been.

I rather sign Deandre and roll with Clarkson. Kobe keeps the ball in his hands too much anyways ;).

But the question is why? Clarkson, by any measure, is already the superior player to Rondo. He's also learning the pg position FAST. His assists are steadily ticking up and that's with him passing to these sorry players. There was a sequence in the first half last night when Clarkson dropped the ball off to Boozer three possessions in a row where Boozer missed 3 open shots. Mitch and the entire front office have to see that. A Rondo signing would be a piss-poor, knee jerk reaction to Dwight leaving us. It's be us showing that we can still sign marquee free agents, except that Rondo is marquee is name only. He isn't even a top 15 pg at this point as far as talent. He may not even be top 20.

I doubt we resign Lin and can't see us going forward with just Clarkson. I have read all the comments slamming him, but I just don't think he is that bad of a signing at the right price. I think the odds of seeing a guy like him and/or Kevin Love are pretty high.

I respectfully disagree, Elgin. Older, declining, attitude issues, can't shoot, is not worth signing, IMO. If we did sign him, it speaks more of desperation than anything else...
