Did you watch the same game I did?
Dude was far from upbeat when we gave up that 20 point lead. And it looked a lot like Rondo was leading the team, pulling everyone into a huddle at every dead ball situations.

He’s never done it with shooters so I doubt that.

When the team looks bad that includes Lebron.

Lebron was a mixed bag in this game. He had some great plays like the block on Nurkic, great passes, and some absolutely stellar circus shots. But he also shot a horrible deep 3 in the clutch that was saved by McGee. He threw an awful pass to Josh Hart with 24 seconds left on the shot clock and only 25 seconds left in the 4th quarter, which Josh saved by using some voodoo magic to keep his feet in bounds. Lebron should have just secured the ball and let Portland foul him. These are the kind of decisions that I don't expect from a 15 year veteran who's won championships.

We wouldn't have won the game without him, but his decision-making makes me wonder if he'll be focused come playoff time.

See I'm the opposite. I think he'll be a completely different player come playoff time.

I saw the game slipping a bit in the 1st so LeBron flexed a little and took the momentum from the Blazers. Then down the stretch did what was necessary to secure the win. Yes, he made mistakes but I still saw the type of LeBron we need to win tough games. When the playoffs come, I expect a different guy. The LeBron we're seeing now is still trying to integrate the kids and build the team which is why I think he makes some bad decisions. That pass to Hart was not a good idea and Josh had to pull out some break dance moves to make it work.

He is a totally different beast in the playoffs. I think people will enjoy seeing “playoff Bron” and “playoff Rondo”. If we make it, of course. :Rondonod:

It was also nice to see some quotes from him about the coaches putting them in position to win the game. Regardless of what anyone thinks of Luke, it still helps to have Lebron speak up on the staff’s behalf. Given his reputation with previous coaches and the noise already here, it’s a good look.

"Once you see playoff LeBron up close on your own team in the playoffs, you'll never doubt if he poops solid gold and rainbows ever again."

@revgen I have basically the same assessment of the game, but I am more excited about LeBron's final 4 minutes than you and others I guess. I do believe that he is cruising at 50-70% from night to night... mostly to save gas for 2nd half of the season. But also to find out who is reliable and who fits on this roster. Coaching staff is curious too.

We had a big lead and gave it away. Every night is a close one. Down the stretch we routinely see Ingram isolations and Kuzma looking off LeBron to drive to the basket. I'm not criticizing any play call or player performance in this post. But the results are mixed so far. This is where we're at as a team, currently figuring it out. For once it was nice to see LBJ just take a game hanging in the balance. I wanted to see it, and part of me thinks that he needed to prove that he can still do it.

Yeah I'm not worried about Lebron at all. All I ask of him is to take us to the playoffs where he becomes superhuman. I just hope the rest of the team (especially our Zo, BI and Kuzma) can step up their game as well, then anything can happen imo.

Losing these leads are a collective effort. Lebron is on the team remember. If this team does good they all do, if they do bad they all do. Lebron doesn’t get a pass, don’t care how good he plays (and this was the best game I’ve seen him play this year, mainly defensively ), let’s not forget that we lose leads with Lebron on the court, so let’s push the brakes a bit on the adoration.

Haha, well if I was in Cali, I’d invite you over. Unfortunately I relocated to the land of the Rockets which is horrible actually. I can’t even tell people I’m an NBA fan because they want me to acknowledge how good Harden and CP3 are if we discuss the NBA. Just not going to happen.
