I still have faith in us to win this game. Our guys have done some nice damage. It is time to make some BIG plays. The Redsox CAN"T (I seriously hope) live on 2 out runs. 9 of 12 of their runs are after 2 outs.
I don't know puffy, we only had one good inning in this game. Their bullpen has been lights out against us so far, they have a lot of high velocity pitchers in Eovaldi and Joe Kelly. We'll see how they do vs. Kimbrel, who's had his shaky moments in the past. It's time to channel that 9th inning rally. We all know they can do this (Game 5 of 2017 WS).
I feel you. I am not running around with full on belief we can win this game. Its possible. We have the ability. We have gotten better and better as we have gotten into this series. I really am thinking about the series overall. I am not down on what we have done so far.
I think the team's style was not suited at all in Fenway, especially with the cold weather. Makes it very difficult to hit balls out of the park. The Red Sox played the game very well with the small ball and seemingly getting a clutch hit every time. They got right handers coming up with Porcello and Eovaldi, so we'll have that increased HR potential in the lineup again. I feel like the team isn't placed in situations to succeed with the lineup and the pitching decisions (and the overmangaging in general), but they need to show more resilience and fight.
This was a large step back for the Dodgers. They aren't comfortable leaning on their starting pitching, they're not getting what they need out of the pen, the bats went absolutely quiet. We needed this game against Price who started the game looking like he'd just about thrown up a car before the game started. Looks like it all falls on Walker Buehler, but my hopes aren't high. Even if we win that game, we need to be perfect 4/5 games to win this series. Boston is just too damn good.
Just saw this: Dodgers went down 2-0 in 1955, 1965, and 1981, but came back to win the Series. 3 of our 6 WS wins came from 2-0 down!
This is what pissed me off about last game. We were up 2-1 with 2 on and 0 outs. Chris Taylor decides to swing for the a hit rather than advance the runners with a bunt. Then his next at bat he decides to bunt with NO ONE on and 1 out. This teams reliance on big hits is the achilles heel of this team. When we're down 1-2 runs, it's best to go after that next run rather than chasing a big hit, that's not how the playoffs work. With the way Boston has been pitching, it'll be very hard to get any sort of big hit off them. Poor relief choices followed by giving up runs to extend the lead, it's like everything they've done during the season goes out the window.
Trying to change up the mojo. Friend over to watch with me. No in-game posting after this. I,figured this series was going 7. Dodgers need to do it tonight.
Halfway through Game 3. Buehler has been pitching well. His pitch count is getting up there but I'd ride him for at least 1-2 more innings. I don't see much difference in the offensive approach. They all want to go launch mode, which has helped Porcello keep a lower pitch count. We need to score more runs to help out Buehler. Meanwhile, Grandal finally gets a hit!
After passing the 5-hour, 41-minute mark, the game between the @RedSox & @Dodgers became the longest #WorldSeries game in history. ⚾️
Max with the walk off solo HR to left center bottom of the 18th and longest game in World Series history for 3-2 win. Boom!
Damn... That game. Wow. Red Sox went all in. That might cost them the series if we can push it to games 6 and 7. The pitching was lights out on both sides. Bueller is the real fn deal. Got to gice evoldi credit too that man pitched a hell of a game against us. We,gassed him. Today is huge because they used everyone. We jump on them early it may be a wrap quickly.
I'm not sure what to make of this now. The door is open for the Dodgers. If they can chase the Boston pitching today, the Red Sox are in HUGE trouble for Game 5 which puts us in a pretty insane position. That being said, this team has never done things the easy way. Now that there's a door open, they'll probably still struggle to put up runs.
Another....mediocre offensive performance. Starting to think that they should bunt to get the runner over to 2nd base in these tight games vs. swinging for the fences.
