Ask LeBron how he grades his season thus far and I assure you he'll say C or C+

His defense and missed layups do not warrant a A or B

Mind you, none of my relatives are getting paid $48M (LeBron+KCP) so I don't hold them to any standard :wasntme:

I would expect LeBron to hold himself to high standards. I would also expect fans to not s*** on the only legitimate star we've had since roughly 2011.

But maybe a triple double in a win over a playoff team is still a C.

LeBron putting on a show in front of Kobe...I loved every second of it and I was AT this game WITH my weak a** cousin who is a huge Denver Nuggets fan (grew up there but lives here now)...tonight was PERFECT.

Also, LeBron getting that layup over millsap...THAT is the difference between having a superstar and not having one. LeBron can close out a game.

Man I know you like the guy but you're being too sensitive. I made that post when we were 0-3 and graded him based on those 3 games. I call it how I see it.

Now I give him a B- thru 5 games. If he plays poor and lose the next 3 games he's back to a C.

My apologies if that's s***ting on him.

C'mon man Kobe was a top 3 player in the NBA until he tore his achilles. He had arguably the best 17th season of any player in NBA history.

That's fair. I just remember he started missing time in 2012. 2011 was his last full season. I left enough wiggle room with the "roughly" qualifier. :D

To be honest, the sensitive one is you. You dislike the guy so strongly you are giving him a barely passing grade while he puts up insane numbers and puts us in position to win games.

    I'm just laughing at the idea he's been a C player. Now he's a still funny B-. :D

What's an A? A triple double average on 5 blowout victories?

We all know he can do better. His efficiency, especially his 3P% and FG% inside 3ft, is much worse than his career average. Add to that our 2-3 record and I think I'm being quite generous with a B- grade.

So you're giving him an A even if we are on track to win 33 games with Lebron having career low shooting numbers? How does that make any sense?

Stupendous last night. As I had hoped and expected. That line, that move on Millsap, that W!

I don't think I gave my grades out actually, but they certainly wouldn't be a C.

Despite all of his efficiency issues (really it's his outside shooting dragging him down since his 2PT% is lightyears ahead of his career average and higher than last year), he's averaging 25.8/8.6/9.2 with 2 steals per game which would be the highest he's averaged sinceh is sophomore year. You think that efficiency will continue to be an issue or you think he normalizes? Once his shooting comes around, he'll be averaging a near triple double a year with a usage% under 30 for the first time since 2005.

You also realize we've played 4/5 teams that were in the playoffs last year and had a shot at winning all of those games? With two of our most important players suspended for half of those games? I mean c'mon. This is silly!

"Quite generous"? :D What grades are you giving out to the other players on this team? Fs all around?

Been working and out of it for awhile but need to throw in my Lebron comments. . I have been happy with how he is trying to integrate and not dominate. Smart move to build team chemistry. One of the first things that goes is mental toughness. Shooting those free throws under that pressure is not easy. We are going to see a lot of great things from Lebron, pressure free throw shooting is not one of them. Plus early in the season and he is still building game conditioning. Pretty stoked by what I've seen from the team so far.

    What is it then?

When that time comes, and I expect it to, I'll happily give him an A.

Yes, but Lebron's performance was lackluster the first 3 games. Not surprising as he's known to be a slow starter. Had he drilled those FT's our record would be 3-2. The last 2 games he's been much better. All things considered I give him a B-

I'm not sure why you keep resorting to such irrationality.

When a scrub on a rookie contract unexpectedly puts up 15/7 he gets a A. When a superstar making $36M puts up the same numbers he gets a D or F because superstars are held to a much higher standard.

LeBron is the best player on the planet and he's expected to put up monster numbers every night. If he misses multiple layups, displays lackluster effort on D, or chokes 2 clutch FT's, he gets a C.

I'm hoping there's no need to further elaborate on this concept.
