Would dude come if the Lakers came back from a dubs 3-1 deficit in the playoffs this year....

Is that cupcake cream-filled or not...

The Lakers buyout with Deng gave them exactly enough cap for a KD max (38.2m) next summer...

The now unanimous rumor (Shams, Ramona, Woj) of Kawhi leaning to be a cLip...

Butler not putting the Lakers on his short list...

I'll bet anyone $20 this doesn't happen. We can exchange Venmo accounts and do that transaction that way.

This right here is why I think it's all B.S. So he can be one of the few that threepeats, but he's going to walk away from the chance to be in a VERY select group that fourpeats? Don't see it. I think if the Warriors somehow lose, he considers it. But how can you walk away from a chance to do something no one in the modern era of the NBA has done?

I'm with Savs...if he 3peats (sorry I threw up in my mouth a lil), then there is no way he leaves that if the possibility of a quat-row exists.

Also the dubs open up their new arena in 2019/20, so I think they're going to want to roll out a championship roster for that b****....I really think GS throws whatever bag necessary to KD/Klay to make that happen. And I maintain, it will be so much more satisfying if we can beat the monstars as is, instead of plucking away their talent to beat them.

That being said, if the dubs do lose this year, then I can see KD bouncing. Its really suspicious that the Lakers opened up just enough to get a 35% max player like KD and he's the only potential free agent to be that tier of max player next summer.

Careful what we wish for if we (not you vash of course) want Durant. What if .... we shock the world with perfect storm of gelling for the playoffs, health here, injuries there and knock GS off? KD already got killed for leaving OKC for the team that beat them. Doubt he would do that again. (?)

Let's just get this season rolling and stop worrying about all this pre-mature speculation.

Again, it comes down to: why did LeBron join? If the answer is just current opportunities, then there's no real reason LeBron ever joined.

I think i he gets the 3peat, or like you said loses dramatically, then anything is fair game. He's clearly unsettled in Golden State. Peace of mind is valuable.

LeBron accepted the challenge of rebuilding this team. I think Durant will absolutely consider coming to LA so he can dismantle the empire that he can claim he built.

So the Lakers cleared enough max money for KD next summer...

    Klutch signs AD...

Bron was the all-star captain and his first pick was KD... wanna venture a guess who his 2nd pick was?

So we probably know why Kuz was with KD and Bron for some type of media shooting in LA recently.

I'm not sure how many of those guys I want on my board, but hey, kudos to branching out and changing our minds on the limits that basketball players have.

I think I'll like that pairing for a show - Kuz, Tucker, and Jay Williams. Both Jay and PJ Tucker are real straight and say it like it is.

Doesn't sound as convincing as Klay's "commitment" to the dubs, does it?

"Focused on this year" is never what you want to hear about a guy who is sticking around long term.

If the fact that the Warriors are Steph’s team is the problem, then I can’t see why Kevin would come to he Lakers after a year of Lebron endearing himself to the LA fan base.

If Durant just wants the money, other business opportunities/endorsements, and a good chance at another tittle, LA is a great destination for sure.

I think it's a little different though. The Warriors ARE Steph's team. There's no question about that. They had an identity and won a championship before Durant got there. The Warriors are really the Splash bros and Draymond. I don't think Durant truly feels like he is tight with those guys, and moreover, he is his own entity. It's like GS is them plus him right now and that's why they are so dominant.

But if he wants to cement his own legacy, coming to the Lakers would be sure to do so IMO. Most likely (let's be real) Lebron isn't going to win a championship here this year. He's also headed into the twilight seasons of his career after this. Durant is close to passing him as the best player in the game, and will probably do so soon. We know as fans that Lebron alone won't get us there. Durant does too. To have the best and second best players together (and it's debatable which is which) though would jettison us to favorites to win it all and keep doing it for a while hopefully, especially taking Durant off the Warriors, our biggest competition. I still think there's a competitor inside Durant who wants to prove it to everyone that he can do it for himself without them.

Lebron is the draw here now but if Durant comes he will actually be the guy for the near future while in his prime. I can see Durant filling the Kobe-type shoes as a franchise player. I also think Lebron and Durant are better friends than KD is with those GS guys who are very tight-knit amongst themselves.

Bottom line, I can see it happening and I think the Lakers have that same feeling and thus opened up the full cap space to offer to him. If we can add AD to the mix, look out. Even if we don't, look out. KD, Lebron and the kids next year is enough to win a championship. I think KD is sensing that possibility as well.

The more talk I hear about this, I get this feeling that he won't play it safe, that he'll want to test the waters this summer and that we have a strong chance to get him.

I agree. If he "wants his own team" then this isn't going to work.

If he wants to create something special to rival what he had up in Golden State, this works great. What other player can shoot for two threepeats on two different teams?

I hope there is a serious discussion about whether or not we even need second “max” star after this season.

Do we need another guy that plays the same position as somebody we already have? It would be great to fill out the roster with money spent where we actually need some help.

LeBron and KD and AD and the best of our young players kept with Rob doing that killer thing he's known for in negotiations ..... would be the biggest F*** You to "basketball reasons" finally from the Lakers and the league would be in fear and loathing of us once again for the next decade.
