Invite the man as a training camp fodder and if it doesn't work out then release him. Just the idea of seeing one of my favorite players in purple in gold again is exciting.

We already have the least money invested in the center position in the league. Top to bottom our centers are only serviceable (McGee), inexperienced (Moe) to bad (Zu last season). I’m assuming his trainer is overstating Bynum’s 3pt ability, but he’s not lying that his form looks good and Bynum is super skilled at what he did. No idea if he’s still mostly got it at 30, but I just don’t see the downside in taking a risk on him. High reward, low risk for the last roster spot

With the weakness we have in the 4 and 5 position, I'd certainly take a chance on Bynum at this point. He's always been a skilled player. He wouldn't have to play a ton of minutes so maybe he could stay healthy? Even rusty, he's much better than anyone we currently have at the position.

Well Javale is growing on me. I think he fits well with our group. I just don’t know how many minutes he can give us over an 82 game season. If he gets hurt and our rotation is Zubac and Wagner, I’m not too confident.

Bynum would be good depth and hopefully a reclamation project that works out. Unless he came into camp and surprisingly showed he’s back to his all star form with an added jumper, I wouldn’t just gift him a heavy rotation spot yet. He’d have to earn it.

It's interesting to me that he has just hired an agent right before training camps are set to start.

I wouldn't care about a jumper at all with Drew, the man has post moves and could give us an inside iso game. Forget about what he can do on D. Who knows, Drew could have a Grant Hill type of ending to his career. I loved the dude since he dunked on Shaq. Remember, we got through the championship years with a hindered Drew and he still made the difference. This ain't some milquetoast euro 5 if Drew could play 20-25 minutes he and JaVale could make the rim a nightmare at both ends. Got to bring him in and have a look under the hood. Does he still have that reptile David Lee for rep?

Whoa there Cowboy. How about 10-15 minutes when he has mismatches against modern puny boy centers and like you say we could feed him down low and just make that team pay when trying to rest their starters. Between McGee, Zubac, Wagner and him for the muscle and moves down low we could finally be reasonably deep there too. Certainly with size. Can he give us 10-15 though. Sure would be nice when we play the Warriors in the WCF and Boogie has somewhat come back from his injury with his strength. Bynum could match it. Boogie's going to struggle like hell with P&R too.

That clip of Drew though they sure are trying to sell that he's slimmed down good and is in shape to play a running game. Not buying it though. Put him low and GO to him until the defense has to do something else because he's eating them up with good position and entry passes from our good passers.

He can't. You know he can't, his knees will give up at some point. He could maybe play 10, or maybe play him every other game, I don't know.

My first thought when I read the news on Bynum was, “did he blow through $60 million dollars already?”

I would love to have him on the Lakers for the vet minimum. I’m very worried about our center position... a few weeks ago, I heard on the Locked on Lakers podcast that McGee actually has asthma so he’s only high energy for short periods of time. We can’t count on him for anything more than 16-18 Min a game because he doesn’t have the stamina for it.

So let’s assume we can only count on McGee for 18 Minutes a game. I would feel more comfortable giving Bynum 12 Min a game to start (his stamina will be terrible), and just do a time share for the remaining 18 minutes at the center position between Zubac/Wagner/LeBron/Kuzma (the latter two when we go small).

10 min for 30-40 games max, and hope he’s healthy for the playoffs

I think hoping for anything more wouldn’t seem to have data to support it.

Dudes don’t fall out of the league in their prime with major knee issues, and suddenly return good to go. He’d have to be very conservatively managed, but at the right price, I’m snapping him up if I’m Golden State actually

Like I said if he has some sort of Grant Hill type turn-around at this point in his life. It's worth checking out.

The money says he can't yes but you bring him in and kick the tires around. Sometimes these issues settle down. He isn't going to be 18-year-old Bynum-dunking-on-Shaq ever again. I well know his history I had high hopes for him I mean his list of stuff is no joke:

    January 2008: Dislocated left kneecap.
January 2009: Right medial collateral ligament tear.
    April 2010: Right knee hyperextension.
September 2012: Orthokine treatment on both knees. Discomfort in both knees caused him to miss start of season.
November 2012: Left knee reinjured bowling. *eyes rolled everywhere

But he has also has had an awful long time to recover, we check him out, there is little to lose.

Nope. Today's Bynum can legally park at the handicap parking slot.

Last we'd heard he had degenerative cartilage in his knees. That doesn't just settle down, it's still there.

If we're going to take a risk on an unhealthy guy, I'll take Bosh.

As someone that used to defend Bynum, no.

The kid never had basketball on the top of his list. It's now why I understand why Kobe wanted him to be traded. His knees can't be good anymore and even at his peak, today's pace would not work for him.

I think he's chasing a paycheck because, let's be honest, what has he really been up to lately that would constitute him to earn a paycheck? Doesn't sound like much.
