Former All-Star center Andrew Bynum is preparing a comeback to the NBA, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports. The 30-year-old has hired representation and is scheduling team workouts before the start of training camp. Bynum last appeared in the NBA in the 2013-14 season, splitting time between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Indiana Pacers. https://bleacherreport.com/articles...lanning-nba-comeback-scheduling-team-workouts
No thank you. Cartilage doesnt regenerate in the knees once it's worn down. What this tells me is the young man needs a pay check. I'm okay with that and I still like him, but I'm not interested.
That is the real reason... Real! I would also add that he probably sees the lack of skilled big men and if some of the big man stiffs currently in the league can get paid for defending the rim and providing 10 minutes a game why not him? For what Luke wants to do I don’t see him being a fit at all. LeBron would him look great though!
his style of play is nonexistent in today's NBA a back to the basket big man who can't shoot 3s? it's all about speed and athleticism these days. there really isn't a true center position anymore i'm rooting for him though. hard to believe he's only 30
I'd consider it super cheap and if he is not asked to play more than 8-10mpg. As I said in another thread - his knees are done. He can still play few minutes of professional basketball for maybe two seasons if everything goes as planned... in any case, I wish him luck.
He could probably only play every other game for 10 min at best with gimpy knees. I just don't see it.
Bynum would be fine on a team that plays mostly half court set-up offense in limited minutes. Unfortunately, in this age there isn't one. The skills are there but he'd labor changing ends and defending the pick and roll.
I’ve always loved Bynum so since we need some big man depth I don’t think it would hurt to give him a minimum contract or camp invite for the 15th spot. But I wouldn’t expect much out of him and yes this does just seem like the dude needs another pay check.
Dude looks like he's serious. And IN SHAPE! Wth? Is this because LeBron joined the team? https://www.lakersnation.com/lakers...-transition-game-three-point-shot/2018/09/10/
why couldn't he just rebound and outlet pass and let the others run while he stays back on d? it's not like if he does get sign he is gonna play major mins
Even if he could maintain this pace for 15-20 minutes a game, he'd give today's Centers fits on the low post.
"centers" bynum and hibbert were the two last true back to the basket centers left in the league. the center position is dead
I posted the same sentiment on another thread, Bynum would be usable to that extent. Much like Abdul-Jabbar did in his advanced years with those Showtime squads not that I am saying they're equal in regard. I agree with you in that kind of a role.
Tiger can't change his stripes. Andrew was always very gifted and talented but along with the bad luck injuries he didn't always seem to have the passion to improve and play. Hopefully this his him trying to turn that corner.
