You know you're only as good as what you've done lately to the media and world at large and that's all good. I hope everyone underrates us because of our youth and our "The Expendables" veteran crew backing LBJ. We'll get targeted too and that's preferable to me. Targeting us shortens our ramp-up time for our youth by making them tougher. Give our youth some incentive to prove themselves and the same goes for all our new vets. I'd love for these guys to be a gritty nasty team when they need to be. And we are gonna peel off some 10-0 or 1 or 2 losses type runs and beat up a couple contenders of that I am sure. Whether the power rankings want to show love or not means little, those things are ridiculous anyways. They'd have the Raptors in the top 3 last season just because of their reg season record instead of 7-8th where they belonged.

As for the media making it all about LeBron, well that's good too, takes the pressure off the guys a bit, they'll get enough anyways. They have never played with a super star let alone LBJ (ok BI and Zu played with a broke-down Kobe). They are gonna benefit from a lack of attention on court too. That's how the scrubs that are the Cavaliers can be so good :)

you can already tell the media bias against this team, they use a positive headline by saying people are overlooking the team than proceeds to show a a photshop of james and all the wacky new signings instead of our talented youth core lol

GREAT interview with nichols. good questions and good answers. can't ask for more.

btw, laker fans should pay attention to his paul george answer: george did what he felt was right for him. as did lebron. aren't we happy enough to let that go?

    This!

#9 in power rankings?... With the best player in the league on our team? Haha

Just prove these haters wrong...hate runs so deep, that murals are getting defaced by supposed "Laker fans" ....prove them all wrong...including the Logo.

Fact is yall don't have the Laker legacy as a franchise... ironically, it's the legacy you helped build, Logo. You should know better than anyone that the cLips had no chance.

Anyways, I'm embracing the nationally driven Laker loser role...please treat LlllllABron and our band of smashdogs as the underdog... it's going to taste so much better later.

Also on second read, he basically said Paula shouldn't be pressured into making a choice she felt she couldn't handle...so basically, she couldn't handle the pressure haha. I see what you did there Bron.

Btw, I thought the Nichols interview was dope too. She is just questioning what alot of people are wondering...why the Lakers with their unproven talent and why cosign a bunch of NBA nomads with enigmatic personalities? It didn't sound like she was hating on us. She's one of the better ones at her craft imho. Questions were fair and I loved how he answered them...including a shout out to the good Doc himself... Dude sounds like he's been a Laker. Keepin it 100!

" you can look at the Cowboys, and you can look at the Patriots, you can look at Manchester United, the Boston C Bags -- these are historical franchises and for me to be a part of that, I think it's a great moment for not only me but for my family and for the history of basketball in general."

I love that LeBron has gotten with the program here in L.A. already in calling Boston .... "C Bags"

the question bout him playing gm n forcing la hand is clearly a back handed n loaded question and she even undermine his answer by saying we'll see by trade deadline

Are we not rumored to want Kawhi and him wanting to be a Laker?

There's a certain truth to that line of questioning and as a Laker fan myself, I am in the camp of bringing Kawhi here at .25-.50 cents on the dollar rather than waste a window of Bron's prime and have the cLips steal another potential target away from us (a la Cp3 and before all the hating ensues, with that non-move we prematurely lost Kob's latter prime years as well as entered an abyss our franchise had never experienced before).

that question didn't seem to me like a "trade for star sensibly" seemed more like she's trying to goat him into saying get me a star at any cost...and her follow up of "we'll see" seem to suggest I dont believe you and by trade deadline you're gona get your way.

That's understandable and I'm not trying to debate you on it, especially when I'm biased cause I actually enjoy her work.

Either way, there is a sensible shift in the media's perception of how great Bron is now that he's a Laker.

Let's prove all them hatin' a** hatahs wrong!

I like Rachel Nichols a lot, and the interview was good, but she has clearly not been “happy” that he’s a Laker. She clearly would have preferred to see him go to Philly or Houston or something a small she’s been making fun of our moves for weeks and saying over and over basically we are wasting a year of LeBron’s prime this season. She’s harped on it for weeks, she’s lamented it, she’s whined about, basically she won’t shut up about it. You’d think she was LeBron’s mother, and if you watch the Jump daily you’d be sick of it too.

    Eh, the psychology is easy:

The media has loved lebron for a long time and hated the lakers for longer. They can't deal with this union; I'm actually enjoying the bizarre hedging and discounting. It's funny when adults can't manage their emotions in such public ways.

LOL your post and @KareemtheGreat33's reference yesterday to Conan's talking about the "lamentation" of the women.

This is a tremendous interview from LeBron. Nichols repeatedly tried to get him to disparage the Lakers and his new teammates and LeBron fought her off each time.

that was my point earlier: she asked all the questions the fans and media have been wondering about, and he answered them well--just maybe not to her satisfaction.
