Am I missing something...I thought dude was repped by Paul/Klutch. I guess after seeing what happened to Noel, dude must have bailed haha.

Anyways, the cLips are now at 18 on the roster with 2 non-guaranteed contracts which would still get them to over capacity at 16. Trades is comin and I fear the Logo, especially when it comes to trying to steal Kawhi from us.

    Also...

And the Hawks waived the non-guaranteed contract of Cleveland today, so that Melo 3teamer should be coming down the pike any minute now. I wonder if ATL would reroute him to Houston for Anderson/Nene/pick compensation instead of waiving him, cause if they do then ATL is sitting on a roster of 12 and need to add players to make it 14.

would suck if houston got to dump anderson in a melo pickup. that's what i wanted to do with deng before we used cap space on the looney bin.

    Probably for the room exception.

Is Dedmon available now? We need a 3rd team with cap (Sac), but Deng/picks for Dedmon?

I'm speculating that the only reason we haven't pulled on a Dengdump is we need his contract to bring in more significant salary (ie Kawhi) and we don't want to dump him now using picks only to trade for Kawhi later and also include further picks.

I believe we're going to combine a Dengdump with a Kawhi deal later and throw in picks for the illusion that we threw picks in the deal to get Kawhi and not necessarily to dump Deng.

At least that is my hope as to why we're sitting on that contract as we continue to hoard wings.

Also, Sac has only announced the Bjelica signing, which makes that official. The Yogi signing hasn't been announced yet, so we can correctly speculate they intend to use the room exception on his contract, oppose to cap space. Which means they still have 14m in cap space to use before they will sign Yogi with part of the room exception. They obviously run the risk of having him waffle on that decision and go back the the Mavs tho...but still interesting to consider why they would need all of 14m as oppose to 11m in cap space.

Listening to an interview with Magic on ESPN during SL caught my interest: he thinks "we're going to start out slow" in the beginning portion of the season because of all the new pieces we're integrating. And while that may be true, I think the Lakers want to add another impact piece before February.

Lebron and Magic discussed a '3-year-plan', but they are both intelligent enough to know we're in the final stages of Lebron's career; while Lebron committed to us without another star here, I firmly believe Magic and Rob are continuously working on finding us another piece out there that may become disgruntled this season.

I'm looking at 3 different players that may become available: Kawhi Leonard, Damian Lillard, and Kemba Walker.

Kawhi - The obvious choice, right? However, we have to wait and see how that plays out in Toronto; Can the Raps make a case to Kawhi and his uncle that his a place he can play for 7, 8 years? Can they sell him on being the face there? That's a tough job for a player wanting to come to Los Angeles, reportedly, but we heard those things with PG. So in that case, let's play the patient route, and see where things stand in December/January.

Damian Lillard - He's on record as saying he's happy in Portland presently; but that could change if things spiral out of control. I don't think Portland is close to winning a title. Things could go south very quickly if they come out of the gates stumbling and Lillard becomes frustrated and eventually wants out of there and wants into a better basketball situation. I think that's totally possible, IMO.

Kemba Walker - Not my first choice, but he's very talented. Underwhelming choice to Lakers fans, but he does move the needle in some respects. And James likes him:

Up for extension next year, and I doubt Charlotte pays him. He could be on the market.

There may be more stars that are rumored to want to get out of their current situations, additionally.

    Exciting times...

I think walker can play next to Lonzo if need be, as well.

Also watch for a disgruntled Jimmy Butler or even if things get bad in NOLA Davis may be available. My personal feelings are keep the young core and if Kawhi is healthy go after him during the deadline without offering kuz,Zo,bi, Hart, Svi, Wagner. Offer Deng, kcp and 2 first round picks for Kawhi and whatever bad contact they want off the books

hahaha. Some of you guys and your trade proposals crack me up. Trading Bonga, Zubac, Deng, some lame draft picks that wont mean anything for stars.

Lakers aren't getting s*** in trades unless they are trading for s***. They traded 12:01 and a bust at the right moment to the Nets because the Nets destroyed their team with Boston, and could take a shot at maybe getting Russell to come through there.

Lakers traded Nance and Nightclub to Cleveland for a lemon and dolt so Cleveland could get rid of a cancer and bring in youth for a possible last ditch title.

These trades were all financial trades for cap space. You get so attached to mediocre players and talk about trading mediocre players for stars, it's comical.

Lakers have a great plan. They have a shot at Kawhi Leonard next year. I do not think he will pull a Paul George. That was a freak occurrence.

Whether the Lakers get rid of Deng or not at this moment is irrelevant. He will be gone by next year either through the stretch or trade. I think Rob and Mag have enough credibility now to think they may be able to drop Deng without taking anything bad in return. Either way, the Jim Buss era dies with Deng next year and the Laker can get their second star and finish the goal of getting a title contender so we can start winning titles again.

I'm not taking any chances with Kawhi, and if a chance presents itself, and another star becomes available, I'm taking it.

PG was butt hurt we didn't trade for him. And while he could be a completely different person than Kawhi, I'm not risking anything or more importantly believing any reports from ANYBODY.

Neil Olshey or Mitch Kupchack want to talk about their respective stars; let's have a discussion.

If Lebron was 27, I would say yes. But Lebron has 17 years of NBA mileage. The extra 2 years is playoff games played. But while Lebron is here, Lakers will need to preserve him more each year. Depth and the young guys turning into stars are imperative for the Lakers to make title runs for 5-7 years.

Lakers need to have everyone right now. They can't afford to drop half their youth for a star or they risk losing depth and the ability to sustain it.
