    "But for West to go out of his way to diminish the accomplishment of fellow Lakers icon and current Lakers executive Magic Johnson seems a bit odd. But maybe that’s just what you do when you work for the Clippers."

    How below Jerry and how sour grapes does that sound to even bring it up. Everyone knows the geography and family advantages but James sees the talent here as well and takes this on as a challenge now. Clipper stink has gotten to Jerry. Sad place to have to be in Los Angeles.

    rich paul's story is pretty remarkable. guy sums up the saying "being in the right place at the right time"

    he was selling jerseys out of his trunk when lebron spotted him at an airport and asked him where he got his throwback warren moon oilers jersey

    the rest is history

    So I guess Lebron Levetoed Isaiah Thomas (being facetious), and now cousin IT is only getting 2 million in Denver (are they paying him for talent or height - humbling)

    It's a little bit of a shame, and Lebron has not so much been forming the Justice League this year as the Legion of Doom with all his worst enemas.

    Yeah what a rush.

    I do think the media is making too much of Magic's comment. Sure, Magic asked his opinion of some guys...but it wasn't like Magic just looked at him and said alright what should we do now? Magic and Pelinka consistently have said they had plans A-Z lined up for every and any scenario in Free Agency, this was just the type of guys they wanted to surround with Lebron.

    Magic never said LeBron made decisions. Rob and Magic said they had dozens of contingency plans and when they sign someone they ask Lebron about that guy and add his opinion to their breakdown. That seems completely reasonable to me.

    Jordan outsells Bron 2-1 because kids don’t want to be like LeBron. :Laugh:

    i'm guessing they presented a list of guys that they liked and asked his thoughts, then they moved quickly on the ones he liked. i don't think it's a huge issue, but i do agree with that dude in the video that lebron (and really, many other superstars) doesn't have a great grasp of who's going to be a good player. if anything, players tend to get stuck in the past in terms of talent evaluation. i mean, if you told me the lakers got rondo, stephenson, and javale mcgee for the price of one starter six years ago, i'd be like: oh hell yeah! but stuff has happened since then...

    anyway, my coping method has been to just imagine we're paying lebron 45 million.

    There was no win here for us as far as the media. There would have been a negative spin on any move we made.

    I don't mind our roster. We're not perfect but we've definitely improved. If all else fails, we have moveable pieces. I certainly wouldn't be shocked if we make a deal at some point.

    Parker HATES LeBron. Probably hates him more than Skip Bayless.

    Ennis --> Rondo
    Brewer --> Stephenson
    Randle --> LeBron
    Bryant --> Wagner
    A bunch of crap --> Mykhailiuk
    B. Lopez --> McGee

    McGee might be the only step back, but there's so much positive about what we've done it's crazy.

    lopez to mcgee is a big step back, but the others are all big improvements, with some being gigantic, of course.

    Who gives a rat's behind about shoes. Both their shoes suck anyways. Overpriced, slave made shoes.

    Lebron is here to put banners in Staples and going through Boston to get there is all Laker fans should care about.

    Basically, we have gained tremendous depth. OK, Bron over Randle is a marginal upgrade, but everything else looks amazing.

    Sure is, also missed the part where just kids by Jordans. I’m 28 and I have plenty of friends my age and older that buy them religiously.

    I think I'm finally over the shock. It just hit me. We landed LeBron James. It won't feel real until media day, but damn...
