Damn. Makes me want to start practicing my 3pt’r. Now I see why all these retired ballers are trying to warm back into the NBA. Youngsters, with less talent, getting paid like they hit the lottery with every contract.

This would have been a nice signing - he is only on a 1 year deal...keeping an eye on him.

    Dude signed for 6.5m of NY's non-taxpayer mle (8.6m).

I suspect we were trying to sign him with our cap space and have him be our version of Korver for Bron, but he wanted too much or he wanted NY instead and that is why we pivoted and used the same amount of money (about 6m) to go get Stevenson/McGee.

I see us starting slow, build momentum (like Miami did) and barring injuries keep others looking for us in their rear view mirror.

"SLOW" :SadPau2: .... not a good choice of adverb (ly) in regards to this team going forward.

I honestly believe the way we're constructed, are definitely the number 2 team in the West now.

Houston lost two of the their top defenders in Ariza and Mbah a Moute, and still haven't put a deal together for Capela who's not going to be happy next season. San Antonio is out, OKC is pretty much the same team as last year, unless they really believe Roberson (LOL) is really going to put them over the top. Minny is having locker room issues and weren't cohesive last year anyway. Blazers overachieved last year with their record, they'll hang around, but aren't getting past the 1st or 2nd round currently constructed. Pelicans lost Boogie, Rondo, and Evans, and replaced them with Randle and Elfrid Payton, another 1st round exit.

The only teams I see improving are Utah and Denver.

    1. GS
    2. LAL
    3. HOU
    4. OKC
    5. POR
    6. UTA
    7. NOP

That's a great deal for OKC...wish we coulda exploited this some how.

If this is true, then BK will be stretching Dwight's dead cap of 24m over 3 seasons for 8m per (numbers are based off Dwight not agreeing to "set off" his buyout and instead double dipping with his Wiz deal).

Brooklyn really swallowing more than 10 million in dead cap every season for three years? That's crazy.

This a real solid pickup by Houston. James isn't a terrific defender, but he's very athletic and he's got tools to be good in their system.

He went to my alma mater so I was able to actually watch this kid develop. A nice guy and a hard worker.

Houston right now is at 11 with contracts in hand. That leaves Capela for the 12th spot and then they have 3 rookies: (Melton, traded for Edwards and called in Clark who went undrafted). They got one 2way player on their books so they can essentially make Clark their 2nd one. But there are actual reports that Edwards and Clark have already signed contracts so in that case, Rox are already at 14 if you count Capela, Clark and Edwards and then Melton would make it 15.

But lets assume Clark is a 2way player sign, then they'll be sitting at 14 if they hand Capela, Melton and Edwards contracts. They have a final spot for Melo in that case. They can also create an extra roster spot by waiving Qi since his contract is not guaranteed till 1/10/19.

If Melo to the Rox is such a certainty then it looks like they'll be using up all 15 roster spots and will bust through the luxury tax in the process (already sitting at 120m and Capela ain't even signed yet).

With this roster we will not be No. 2 seed in the West. Quote me on it.

We will if Kuzma and BI go next level. Kuz and BI are going to have many open shots. If they hit them on a consistant basis, the Lakers will be better than anyone thought.

Remember, this team is not creating an LA version of GSW. They are creating a defensive, high IQ, extremely conditioned basketball team.

That is why Randle, Brook Lopez were not brought back. Randle never had the stamina and brook was too slow.
