A good example is I'd hate to give up on Lonzo, but if Lonzo gets me Lillard, I'm probably doing it. Young, locked in to money, and is a complete killer.

Lonzo for Lillard would be a gigantic steal in my opinion. No way that'd ever happen though

Year after year, we as laker fans tend to overhype our young players big time lol

Like I've said, Lillard is my favorite non-Laker. If we can flip Ball, Hart, Deng and a couple picks for him, I'd do it in a nano second. And I'm a big fan of Ball the son.

    Lillard/Rondo
    Ingram/KCP
    Kuzma/Stephenson
    Lebron/Wagner
    McGee/Zubac

That team can beat GS if either Durant or Steph isn't at 100%. Damn though. We are WEAK in the front court. Maybe we create a special locker room that only Dwight Howard uses and gets ready in. Essentially put him in his own separate cage so he has no interaction with the rest of the team except when the ball goes up. :D

Lakers are better off waiting one more year to see if the kids can become stars. This discussion could end up being laughed at in a year.

Lonzo, Kuz and BI could become stars. Then you have Lebron and then hopefully an incoming Kawhi Leonard. That is a stacked team that can compete for the next 4-5 years.

Woulda been a nice get for us, since we completely botched our handling with our only other center, Jules.

I would definitely wait a year just for ingram. I see major potential with him. If he practically becomes a star during the season, then we can wait a year to sign Leonard outright instead of meeting spurs ridiculous trade offer

At this point the Lakers need to disengage in trade talks and focus on developing their young guys (Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, Zubac, Wagner, Hart). We don't need to gut our team to trade for a possibly still injured superstar like Kawhi when the free agent market in 2019 is packed with great players.

Let Ball and Ingram flourish playing with LeBron, and their trade value will skyrocket to the point where we can trade just one for a superstar or keep them and let them develop into All-Stars. Then we use our cap space in 2019 and before we know it we will have our own superteam of four star players in LeBron, Ball, Ingram, and the 2019 free agent.

I'm not saying that'd be the deal, just a starting point.

Also, I think Laker fans severely underrate Lonzo if anything.

I dont think Javale McGee has ever been a locker room problem has he? He's a dingus, but is he really a malcontent?

The only two I see causing problems are Rondo and LeBron if they feel Luke isn't taking things seriously or worse is a dummy. Luke is smart and capable so I think he'll be fine.

I really believe they got Stephenson to get underneath Draymond Greens skin. He will have Draymond kicking balls left and right.

I have no problem with these guys on one year contracts. The only thing is McGee can't play a ton of minutes so I hope we lock down another center some time soon.

The fans here who like our young core remind me of the 90s Lakers pre Shaq. We had the all star talent to make it to the 2nd round of the playoffs. Nick Van Excel and Eddie Jones were good players, but that young core was not going to get us over the top. We eventually phased them out for Kobe, Harper, Shaw, etc, to WIN

Against Houston and the Hampton 5, I wouldn't doubt it. Kuzma and Leonard/Ingram along with Ball and Rondo (or KCP) would be good.
